So speaking to what it's like dating a korean in korea, modernly, in my experience it's mostly you are loosely dating and getting to know eachother up until you solidify the relationship with a ring and a confession. you really don't owe any "obligation" until you say "i love you and i want to be with you in a committed relationship". also there is this push and pull thing that is kinda toxic that is really common and one of the things i absolutely hate. it's essentially playing hard to get and mind games and a looot of girls do it and a lot of guys will feed into it cause they like the "chase". it's weird. times are changing but that was really common for a while.

no, untrue, he only is forced to see her for who she is because he caught her. he was happy being ignorant. he literally views her as fragile and feels he needs to PROTECT HER. you're arguing a point that has nothing to do with my point. my point has always been the trope he represents and why i personally do not like him. again stop trying to convince me he's somehow a good guy because he suddenly likes her. you can like someone and still not be the right person for them. he is not good to her. he's controlling and insecure and relies on shallow outbursts and fits of rage to express his emotions and literally did not realize his feelings until it was too late. you use common sense and quit trying to convince me of a point that is irrelevant to my whole stance. "he's forced by the writers to like her if you deny that you're delusional". you need to take reading comprehension classes because nowhere in my point did i say he didn't like her. stop arguing with me about whether he likes her. liking someone does not equate to accepting them for who they are. there are billions of people in this world who convince themselves they "like" someone based on the fallacy they have created inside of their head. he literally had a fucking OUTBURST AT MINHYUK BECAUSE HE FELT INSECURE THAT HE COULDN'T "PROTECT HER" literally again proving my point 😒 and on TOP of that, if you understood tropes and how they subverted them entirely, you would realize that ironically Gook Doo has the personality of a first male lead archetype who doesn't realize their feelings until it's too late, and Minhyuk is the trope of the second male lead who always has eyes for the female lead and just accepts her from the start. there's never been any second guessing. if you're gonna call someone delusional for not accepting the writing then maybe you should be better at critical writing analysis and have experience in screen writing and character development before trying to belittle me to make a point that is once again completely irrelevant and unnecessary to my entire line.

The character is indeed different than normal love triangles and started the series in a relationship and an interes in Bong Soon peaked when another hot guy was into her. I think he’s written in a way that sparks various opinions. But we shouldn’t go so hard at each over it.
