Ichigo never needed any grandiose Goals like Naruto and Luffy, he needed to find, forgive and accept himself but instead only ever wanted a normal life and just trying to escape from it all by getting caught up in the world he does not understand. To find peace and salvation, you must go back to your roots, understand you accept Bloodline’s Legacy (JoJos) and accept your natural authentic self to live about the influences of the world, if it’s a shitty legacy that you are not proud of nor care for, change it and make it better for the sake of your children as the next generation (Sajin Komamura + God of War) They own this year on motivation as the greatest pieces of Peak Fictional entertainment to Nonfictional Aspirations like no other. Everything but the Rain + The Blade IS Me is the culmination of not only Ichigo’s character arc but the very plot of Bleach as a whole as this was foreshadowed back in the first arc in Ep 20 what Ichigo first met “Zangetsu” he tried to call out his name but there was a blurred bubbling sound, and in the manga his name was crossed out as Yhwach, so not only is it a casual “How I met your mother”/Romeo and Juliet romance story but the very balanced genesis and salvation of who we are, our conflicting personalities/souls at war with one another finally finding peace as the holy trinity from an identity crisis. Bleach has single-handedly made every Monday feel like an event and has officially become the greatest comeback return in anime history thus far as well as one of the best adaptations that any anime could hope for as it became the highest rated anime on IMDB, 9 week streak on Anime Corner as a popularity poll and possibly it’s anime of the season/year, and although not credible, even the 1st top spot on MAL 3 Effing times during these past 2 1/2 months in a matter of only 10+ Eps, not seen before since AOT, all while despite countless people catching up with the OG anime and not being able to see it outside of English speaking countries, meaning lack of availability unlike with others that have no setbacks!” -Truth Now as for my thoughts, Imagine instead of Kurama, Naruto had a younger Madara or rather Hashirama/Ashura, and Luffy having either Joyboy be the related essence of Im Sama or Shanks being his inspirational need to break him down for the one piece in their psyches, fathering them just to have it be revealed to be their greatest threat that they must now face for the sake of their very existence and that’s a similar situation to this.

It all makes sense now! If I remember correctly when ichigo 1st met fake Zangetsu he tried to tell him his real name but it was blocked out. Due to this he went with Zangetsu. 😵

After I read this, rewatching the soul society arc was so much fun. I had always wondered why when ichigo did his final blow against kenpachi and "zangetsu" lent him power, it showed his hollow mask.

Maybe it's just me, but I also think this explains that vision of Kenpachi he had when he was doing his hollow training. Kenpachi represented instinct and so did his hollow, but since he would never accept his hollow (not knowing what it truly was,) he always embraced his Quincy powers, which could be seen as his reasoning. They even showed both of them training in parallel in this arc

I never read the manga for Bleach but these last two episodes and the way they tied everything together with previous stuff that happened, like Zangetsu and the situation with Ichigo's mom against Grand Fisher, just really elevated Bleach for me as a whole. Got a whole new level of respect for this show.

I find it interesting that during the zanpakuto arc where that one zanpakuto , Muramasa, pulled out everyone's zanpakuto spirits he only pulled old man Zangetsu from Ichigo and not the Hollow Zangetsu. Technically Ichigo isn't the only one with two zanpakuto and the other people had both zanpakuto spirits pulled out.

Are you sure you were watching it then haha? It literally shows Uryu standing among the Sternritter, it shows a shot of Zangetsu transitioning to Yhwach, and it shows Ichigo holding two blades.

The thing is befor ichigo used final tensho old man zangetsu told ichigo what he wanted to protect is not the same as what ichigo wanted to protect that’s why didn’t want to teach or allow him to do the final tensho or anything soul reaper related for that matter since we seen the reveal

I remember reading this shit weekly and being blown away by this reveal, mostly because I didn’t notice it, but I did because in my head I read Yhwach speech bubbles with the old man zangetsu voice. It was such a deep and iconic voice to me, it had such a strong presence it felt appropriate for Yhwach lol

It’s one of those things of when you know the spoilers they seem obvious, but when you don’t they aren’t as obvious. Unless you aggressively analyze an opening most of the spoilers might fly right past you. Like yea Uryu is shown with the Stern Ritter in the opening, but honestly my eyes never even move to him, I’m always trying to look at the smaller characters in the frame Same for ichigos two swords, they are briefly shown in the opening, but unless you are really staring at it you probably won’t even notice he’s holding two swords Lupa and Sheera watched the opening and didn’t notice any of these things, if they watched it more they might have, but there’s no telling

I actually took that as an indication of just how persistent Old man Zangetsu was in hiding the fact that he was not Ichigo's true zanpakuto and the fact that he was affected by muramasa means that he played his role very well. Not to mention it explains why Hollow Ichigo told Ichi not to use his mask while they fought, because he could not provide the energy for both. It was either zanpakuto mode or hollow mask. At least that's my opinion of it.

that was a filler so it's not really canon. the yhwach look alike within ichigo was never his zanpakuto but the hollow one. Which is why Hollow inside ichigo keeps telling him that he's his zanpakuto and not "yhwach"

What had me confused was that White being a hollow inside Ichigo is technically his hollow AND soul reaper power. I still kinda don’t get all the way how he’s his soul reaper power as well but I have a vague understanding. Obviously he’d be 100% his hollow power but is it because the way Aizen made White? he layered soul reaper souls together with a hollow so maybe that’s it?? Someone lmk if I’m on the right track lol

That is 100% what it is. White was mader the same way an asauchi is made. Combined with the fact that White was suppressed by Ishin's reiatsu, he became an amalgamation of both, hence why he can just use getsuga tensho with no issues like he does against Byakuya.

bruh rewatching old bleach after thsi reveal was a whole another level of enjoyment because of how much we know now. one of the craziest things ive always had on my mind was that moment vs kenpachi at the very beginning. the final attack, Ichigo's spirtual pressure turned into the hollow skull and im like "isnt that kind of ominous?" and afterwards assumed it was just his hollow powers leaking out. which it was but now we know it wasnt simply the hollow but rather it was his actual zanpakto spirit since he said "Zangetsu, lets fight togther" or something along those lines. man this shit was crazy

it actually clears up SO many plot points that bothered me! And what's razy is i read up to this point in the manga but thought it was convoluted and kinda forced, but having the flashbacks and stuff made it make sense to me! May aslo have not been the best manga translation bcuz this shit was confusing af when I read it LOL. I'm now VERY hype for whats next cuz I actually have no idea

Yeah I'm pretty sure I heard that kubo did not have this all planned out in advance. He basically started piecing all this together once he got to this arc and retconned stuff to fit with the narrative and a lot of the plot revealed from the retcons fit very nicely.

Gin was never bad, he told Ichigo that he was literally waiting for the perfect opportunity to kill Aizen the whole time, LOL. Aizen was just too smart and strong for Gin. Gin joined Aizen because he knew how big of a threat Aizen was to Soul Society and he wanted to keep Rangiku safe, so he would have more information on Aizen if he joined Aizen, but Gin only wanted to protect Rangiku and if given the chance, to kill Aizen.
