Elder blood is Elf blood, but different for reasons the show hasn’t gotten into. That’s why Witcher Serum hasn’t been made from just cutting up or asking regular elf’s yet, it wouldn’t work with regular Elf blood. So when they interchange ciri between elf and elder, that’s why. Every elder blood (Cir) is elf, but not every elf (yennefer and refugee elves) , is elder blood, if that makes sense.

nah sheera. triss is not like that. geralt doesnt talk remember? he never said to anyone who has interacted with yen that she was did. he didnt say to triss "im sorry for your loss. i know you loved yen too" so that she could then say "what you talking about? she's alive". it wasnt until istredd that he finally came out and verbally said "wait she's not dead". he's just been mopping about and changing the subject every time someone brings up her name or sodden. he really needs to work on his communication game
