Candyman Gloving

And thus begins the tale of No Mercy Percy

Fizzy

yessir my boi percy cold asf

Bosastar

Yeah I was sold on the show on this part, I like how dark it gets

Crow's Nest

Some notes on background show stuff, there was originally another member of the group who eventually left due to not being able to show up for the game, most abilities the group show are from DnD but altered to avoid trademarks and tell a more fluid story, certain people involved with the show like Matt Mercer and Felicia Day show up as random background characters, the fight with the Briarwoods shown in this episode actually went very different in the game and they almost killed them both there, and this show was funded by a Kickstarter as a small animated special but got over fifteen times their goal in funding.

Totally Thomas

This season really humanizes (and demonizes) Percy and how far trauma and revenge can drive people mad if the triggers are pulled right. I'm glad and can't wait to see a green-lit Season 2 of this show!

About your intro discussion about the dragon: as funny as it is to picture Krieg just booking it to go off and transform, the dragon attack happened a while after he hyped everyone up. There was a campfire burning when he went into his tent, then it cut to the same fire being burnt out and smoking right before the attack. Also, the earlier attacks were done to destabilize the kingdom, not just rob villages. They said they'd face starvation if more farmlands were destroyed, and Krieg was trying to use the attacks to justify sending out the army to face the dragon (which would make them easier to kill and leave the capital largely defenseless). Like Sheera said, they think there might be a larger scheme going on that Krieg was just a part of.

Andrew

I read in another comment section that the reason there's a focus on them not being able to open doors is that while they were playing they got stuck at doors a lot.

DBG

i swear lupa isn’t watching the same shows as the others

Smash Bran'Discootch

So Sylas is a vampire, but Delilah is not. You can see in the episode where they're walking down the mirrored hallway. Sylas has no reflection, but Delilah does. He is vampire, she is not vampire.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Yeah, there's a whole like 15 or so minutes one episode where they waste 3 spells and break a set of thieves tools, scanlan ended up with cut up fingers and they realize that they don't even have to get through the door. Vox Machina was notoriously bad at opening doors. Campaign 1 Secret Boss: Doors. Campaign 2 Secret Boss: Chairs.

Oliverson

Delilah isn't a vampire, only silas. Not a spoiler as you can see when they walk back to their room they pass a mirror and only delilah is shown

Oliverson

Season 2 was confirmed before season 1 started production

Tim Chaos

what I love about Scanlan is that Sam Riegel the VA would actually write and/or improv stupid songs like that while playing the game. The man is hysterical and crazy-witty

bandi138138

Welcome to where the story REALLY starts. You've now seen No Mercy Percy, and shits about to get dicey

Anonymous

The VA for Delilah also voiced Azula in The last airbender. She has such a great villain voice

NO MERCY PERCY! Your going to love this arc, one of the best Vox Machina will have to offer

rickie woodson

now lupa can see just how on the ball he was last episode with that "tepes" comment about sylas. that one got me.

Andrew W

No Mercy Percy! Glad you guys are enjoying the ride, it gets even better from here, and your reactions are great

Re_Slayer

Yes sir NO MERCY PERCY in the house. Also Scanlan is one of the best characters, I would say the best but ya know, Percy.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Also, I'll explain it now: Vox Machina canonically struggles with opening doors. Like, they are historically awful at it. They once wasted 3 spells, broke a set of lock picks, and injured one of their members. So since they were so famously bad at it, it's sort of an inside joke thats repeated in the show.

Anonymous

We need more episodes of this!

Ted Cali

I mean... as it should be, the comments are already hyping up NO MERCY PERCY (or Unmerciful Percival, if ya nasty). One of my favorite things was watching all of the players at the table, not just the characters, reacting to this pretty much in the same way: WTF is happening? It was such a jarring tone shift and it solidified the first Campaign for me. The esteemed Critter ArseQueef (yep) probably has the best video comparison from the original on YouTube, if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYH2V139PAc . This is a great adaptation, but nothing will ever beat that first "SYLAAAAS" from Taliesen.

Thilde

This is where the show truly begins to pick up. Love me some No Mercy Percy

SinBound

That was a standard paladin buff Vampires are undead and that means Paladins are their natural, basically 3x damage buff

rickie woodson

yeah delilah is some kind of dark/shadow sorceress not a vampire. i love this duo as our big bads. favorite episode of the series so far (watched 6). dont know whats up with percy but i assume from the change in his demeanor, the shadow having the form of a demon not percy, and the shadow steam coming off of him he is bond or possessed by some kind of shadow demon and it feeds off of rage/emotions hence why he is always calm and stoic, to keep it at bay. just like storm and raven of teen titans, if they lose control of their emotions its all over with

rickie woodson

loved the song. i mean who doesnt love a james brown tribute? scanlan is hands down my favorite of the show. fun, funny, outrageous and pretty powerful too

Isaac

Don't forget, she did icky Vicky from fairly odd parents too. Pure evil.

Isaac

Is the reason why Pike's healing takes a lot out of her and sometimes doesn't work ( and Percy's gun sometimes fucking up ) a result of a failure dice roll when they played this irl? That'd make sense along with all the other nonsense fuck ups that seem to happen with them.

Smash Bran'Discootch

With Percy's gun, yes actually. In order to balance out guns in DnD, theres a mechanic to where if you roll a 1, your gun breaks and you have to spend a chunk of your turn repairing it. Also, Percy's gun is sort of a work in progress but I wont say anything about that. As for why Pike's healing takes a lot out of her, in DnD spells have limited uses called "Spell slots". Basically just a certain number of spells you can use before you have to take a long rest(8 hours). As for why her spells sometimes dont work, that's more of a story thing that you'll see and I wont spoil. But yeah, theres definitely a lot of DnD mechanics going on here, good catch.

Vin

I watched all the episodes i swear i love when he puts on the mask

Anonymous

I love that they got the voice actress for Azula to play Delilah, it really fits with the vibe. Percy's deal with the devil vibe is fuckin sick as well.

Argo2Unitard

Did you guys notice the snake had an eyepatch? As in Solid Snake?

Restmer

No Mercy Percy!!! Woohoo! The story will ramp up from here, I hope you guys enjoy :)

Brandon Blue

Pump these out baby! Pump them!

Shado

You guys might notice this later, but the voice access for Delilah is Grey DeLisle-Griffin. She's the same woman who voices Azula.

Mirz Mirz

the rest of the crew just waiting to get arrested is crazy, like if it werent for the scene they coulda just stopped percy at the least

Vayne

percy drip became my favorite but damn bro that was a quick switch to a villian bro LOL

SupremeCai

Can't wait for the rest of this. Glad ya'll lovin it so much!

DeMarAdams

See I am just like Roshi I am always on demon time and quite enjoy watching dark shit happen so seeing Percy like that is perfect to me.

Jason Marbach

The fact that the snake was a belt…for trousers…and had an eye patch. A literal ass one-eyed trouser snake.

Max Wigler

Yooo was that Azula's va?

Jimmy Martin

When Percy pulled out the mask I was dying, literally having flashbacks to Villain Roshi when he would get Impostor in Among Us😂😂😂😂😂

Precious

I knew Percy was much more powerful then they first made him look. He's too handsome to just have a magic gun lol

JustRyu30

percy is elite

Drake Rage

Alright this episode was good, hoping it maintains this level of excitement.

Spadez

If you don't know or haven't checked it out already, this is based on the Critical Role 2nd Campaign. A group of voice actors (who do a lot of dubbed anime work and other animations) who are the literal players in the DnD campaign which makes it even better since they are voicing their characters in the animation so it is like listening to the gang when they aren't on screen. It is a much larger pill than the size of these videos. Each episode is 4 hours long so....buckle up lol.

Drake Rage

Yeah, I was reading comments, seems cool that they added things in the anime like how they showed them having trouble with opening doors because they kept failing with the rolls for opening doors while physically playing the real game, lol. I wanted to give DnD a try in college but never got around to it, unfortunately.

Guerry Nine

Bruh, lol you guys didn't notice the snake had an eye patch? Like a certain "Solid" video game character??
