Hello everyone, your map this week is the Feywild Clearing (25x25)! This map was suggested a while ago by someone who wanted more exotic maps, and as it turns out it was an excellent idea! I really enjoyed making this one, the colors were very fun to put together and the location is just interesting to think about. As with all things however, I did make an attempt to keep it somewhat vanilla so that it can be slotted into your average campaign,  and so I didn't go all out with the fey theme- you could say that the tentative secondary title for this map would be 'Ancient & Mystical Forest Clearing', as that's how I'd imagine it could be used when your party is slumming in the Prime Material Plane (perhaps a forest that travelers can pass through to enter the Feywilds?).

Oh, and make sure to check out the night version of this map, I think it looks excellent!

Next week I'm moving on to the Underdark Wilds, a location from the poll that has me a little stumped. I honestly don't have a clue what I'll do with that one- my understanding is that DnD's Underdark is mostly caves and caverns? If you want to do the footwork for me and guide my hand on this one then send me reference pictures, cause otherwise I'll just be googling pictures of cool caves. Anyway, expect mushrooms I suppose!

Adepts can find their post here, and a regular forest version here!

There are not enough fey maps out there. This is a great map and a great idea for variants possibly? I really hope we see more fey maps cause this looks so great! Thank you

I highly recommend browsing "underdark landscape" on pinterest, some very cool inspiration pics there!

Agreed! And most "feywild" maps are just some forest with a few oversized mushrooms scattered around!

What comes to mind when I think underdark forest is living petrified trees...

Absolutely beautiful! I love the enormous stumps, the way the ponds are clearly a few feet below ground level - lovely little details that result in a map that might function the same as a forest map, but clearly has such a different feel to it. The colour scheme is beautifully ethereal; I love it.

Here is a list of all of the monsters from the Monster Manual that live in the Underdark: https://i.imgur.com/Ef12BQM.png Most notable to me are the following, which I think make some great features for the Underdark, especially for Underdark "Wilds". Purple Worm - a gargantuan burrowing worm which could leave interestingly-shaped natural tunnels. Aboleth - living in underground lakes, these creatures may often be found near the ruins of ancient aboleth cities. They're giant tentacle-fish, so their cities wouldn't look like human cities. Grick - a worm with a beak and face-tentacles that hangs from the ceiling and drops to ambush, grick lairs are often identified by the loot and remains found scattered on the floor of whatever natural cavern they inhabit. Loot might be a bit overspecific, but a cavern full of remains could be an old grick lair, even if there are no grick there currently. Driders and other spiderlike entities - the spider-worshipping Drow live in the Underdark, but they tend to live in the more civilised areas, constructing cities. Their castoffs, such as the monstrous half-spider Driders, can be found in the wilds. Expect lairs full of webs. Fungi - Gas Spores look like beholders, but just explode in a cloud of spores when attacked. Shriekers are large mushrooms that shriek whenever something comes close. Violet Fungi can move (very, very slowly) and lash out at nearby creatures with tentacle-like stalks. All can hide well among mushroom-covered wilderness. Best of luck! I can supply you with more details if you like.

This is great! The Feywild features heavily in my story and finding maps for it is a significant challenge! Please add some more options for Fey related maps in future polls! Thank you so much!
