This is the first sponsored video we've done in 2023, and as is usually the case, it's produced to the same standards as anything else we do, so we're also happy to offer it on early access!

In a Digital Foundry tech evolution special, Alex Battaglia revisits one of his favourite PC series - Company of Heroes - from the beginnings of developer Relic Entertainment, its focus on technological innovation, and the evolution of the COH franchise, from its origins as a PC only series through to its arrival on the current generation consoles.

I see the download on the DF site isn't up yet? Or is this one YouTube-only so SEGA can track the amount of views? A detail-heavy video like this with large detailed battlegrounds can seriously use a high bitrate download :)

Haha, yes, sorry for asking about it already one hour after it went online here on Patreon and thus YouTube, but was just in case it was by mistake. It luckily seems like it was or maybe just because Alex didn't have the time to upload it to the DF site yet. Well, whatever it was, glad the video is up for download now. Keep up the good work.

Bit sad that this game seems to have become the victim of a playerbase minority with a very very strong negative voice influencing the opinions of many, at least from what I've read and heard. Of course the game has some flaws, but in my opinion it doesn't deserve the "recent reviews" score of 36%.... especially after the quite many updates it has received to this date. Maybe many in the hardcore CoH-community are just too attached to CoH2 to be willing to give 3 a chance?

Do you think the Total War series will ever reach the Console market?
