Hello there, it's Rich here! Welcome to the latest update on the the works of Digital Foundry, delivered to you in the wake of the team's most recent #content meeting. All staff members were present, but as you shall discover, embargoes and NDAs kinda limit what we're able to share at this time.

The image above? It's an AI generated picture created with a prompt based around 'enraged nerd with graphics card surrounded by burning dollar bills' which brings us nicely to our first update for the week!

* Oliver - who produced the image above - is close to completion on his latest project, covering the latest advances in generative AI. This is a passion project of his on a topic he's deeply invested in, and he reckons this could be his favourite video yet. This one's been in production for some time and he's actually working on his next video too - which is the Gran Turismo 7 120Hz/VRR update you may have been waiting for.

* Alex is in Secret Squirrel mode, working on embargoed content. Don't expect to see this one until next week at some point, but you will enjoy it!

* John is lending his dramatic b-roll skills to Alex's project, while returning to work on the big Road Rash DF Retro episode!

* Tom - having completed work on the huge Elden Ring video, and indeed attending WASD, is back in the saddle, looking to complete his work on the latest patch for The Witcher 3's next-gen upgrade!

* Rich is doing prep work for the inevitable arrival of the RTX 4070. The test system has been updated to the Core i9 13900K and it's time to start re-benching a bunch of 'surrounding' GPUs, with some tweaks to our benchmarks. Prior xx70 cards are in the mix, but there will be more of a focus on products that occupy the same price-point. DLSS 3 will also be added to standard testing, since the tech is producing some nice results and to get test methodology together in preparation for FSR3.

* Will is - perhaps predictably - working on embargoed content. This will be 'landing' on Eurogamer later in the week.

Do let us know if there are any titles/stories you think we should be covering. Tom could certainly use something tasty to get this teeth into once the Witcher update is complete, but that's it for now - have a great week!

Oh dear. Oliver's next video. It's a… controversial topic, and many people do have strong feelings on it. So do I, as a graphic designer. Whether I'll agree with Oliver's views or not, I can't say I'm looking forward to the video or its…fallout. That being said, can't wait for the GT7 vid - really interested in the raw numbers there!

So how long will it take until the Monday's heads up is also AI generated?

That last sentence in Alex’s summary makes me feel I will be held at gunpoint until I enjoy the new video :D

Coming This Week on Digital Foundry (Week 15, 2023) Hello there, it's ChatGPT with the latest update on Digital Foundry's upcoming works for next week. Let's get right into it! * Alex is excited to share his latest project with everyone. He's been working on a video that explores the beauty of in-game stutter, and how it can be used creatively to add a sense of realism to the gaming experience. He's convinced that stutter is an underappreciated aspect of gaming visuals, and he can't wait to show off some examples of how it can enhance a game's atmosphere. * Tom, after completing his work on The Witcher 3's next-gen upgrade, is going to take yet another look at Cyberpunk 2077. He's going to examine the latest patch and compare it to the game's original release to see how much it has improved. He's also going to explore the game's visual technology and how it can push modern hardware to its limits. * John is continuing his work on the Road Rash DF Retro episode and is also planning to create a video that will compare the visual fidelity of the latest racing games, including Forza Horizon 5 and Gran Turismo 7. * Rich is busy testing the latest GPUs and CPUs, including the highly anticipated RTX 4070 and the Ryzen 9000 series. He's also working on a video that explores the latest advancements in AI upscaling technology, and how it's changing the way we play and view games. * Will is working on an embargoed project that he can't reveal much about at this time, but he's promised it will be worth the wait. That's all for now. If you have any suggestions for topics that you'd like to see covered by the Digital Foundry team, be sure to let us know. Have a great week!

Thank you for not calling the AI generated picture "art."
