Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 12, 2024) (Patreon)
Content
This is going to be a big week - and a long week - with a vast array of goodies. The good news is that I've managed to escape the white room with two potted plants and it's highly likely that we'll be putting together a DF Direct Special on the leaked PlayStation 5 specifications and if all goes to plan there will be some supplementary information that isn't yet in the public domain.
Beyond that, there's a lot of big games coming this week.
* Alex will be taking a look at Horizon Forbidden West on PC this week, before moving on to Dragon's Dogma 2. Because Horizon will take priority, we're looking to get an early look at the PC version of Dragon's Dogma 2 into the console-focused video - so expect an Alex appearance in that #content.
* Oliver has been tapped to produce our Dragon's Dogma 2 coverage. Expect the full lowdown on features, performance and platform comparisons! Assuming our plans come together for the PS5 Pro Direct special, he'll be editing that too.
* Tom is the man looking at Rise of the Ronin on PlayStation 5 - we've got a packed schedule so expect that towards the end of the week.
* John has been a little under the weather but is just about done with the Outcast: A New Beginning sponsored content. This is not a review but rather a retrospective look at the original, how the new game came to be and how it's been realised on modern systems. We'll be talking about console versions and performance in this week's DF Direct.
* Rich (ie me) will be continuing the handheld PC saga, but is also likely to handle the PS5 Pro coverage. I'm kinda hopeful that Sony will be timing a public disclosure with GDC bearing in mind the volume of stuff it has now disclosed to developers, but no promises there! I'm reminded of the buzz for PS4 Pro at GDC 2016 but official confirmation didn't arrive until September!
* Will continues to do a great job adding additional DF value to Eurogamer - did you see his excellent review of the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM? I wish we had the bandwidth and manpower to cover this on video too but alas, we don't. Here's the piece: https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2024-asus-rog-swift-oled-pg32ucdm-review-the-best-gaming-monitor-we-have-tested
Do let us know of any projects/topics you think we should be taking a look at, but in the meantime I really hope you have a great week.
