Progress Report - December 15 2020 - Last Scheduled Update of the Year (Patreon)

Hey all. As promised, an early update, since I am leaving for family vacation in the morning.

I was hoping to get more done for today. The first two scenes are animated. The first was shown on Twitter (albeit incomplete). If the third was animated, I'd render out a WIP to show them off. But it isn't, so I didn't.

I ended up spending legitimately over 90 minutes just editing the rock mesh for the "chair" that Chaos uses in this scene. I originally didn't plan for it to have a back, but I needed something high-reaching for Chaos to grab onto for this pose, while keeping it photogenic - and so, I needed to design a back for the stone chair. I really don't want to talk about how unnecessarily stressful that was.

I was hoping to get at least 4 of this section's 5 animations done, but I didn't get anything done yesterday due to dealing with the whole PornHub thing. It sucks, but you can't exactly plan around a major platform surreptitiously deciding to nuke 10 million videos without even an hour's notice. Then throw in the evil rocks that taunted me today, and we end up where we are, with 2.5 animations done.

As I said in the last update, I will try to get work done, and will make some sort of posts on Thursdays (discounting the December 17 post, since this post is serving its place) while I am out.

The one thing I am planning to get done over the vacation is writing. Lots and lots of writing. Blue Star Episode 4 is now officially entering preproduction, and so my second priority is writing out a rough draft of the updated screenplay for it. My first priority is, of course, Rachaos, though writing is a lot easier to get done when privacy is compromised than animating, and Rachaos' writing is already done and locked in, so... Yeah.

Beyond BSE4 though, I also want to write out various Bibles in more detail. Blue Star and Overbreed, as well as my original IPs of Fallen Throne and Crown City (the working title of the cyberpunk-the-genre-not-Cyberpunk-the-game universe that Surrosluts was going to be the pilot episode of). I might also dabble with some potential game ideas, for when I start turning my attention to Unity (which I may or may not look into during vacation; we'll see).

So hopefully the $2 tier for writing will be getting some love over the next few weeks.

As always, though, no commitments. It's hard enough to make them under ideal conditions, but when I am with my family, there is no such thing as "certainty" when it comes to schedules. My parents are a bit spontaneous, so planning things is a bit of a futile effort with them.
