Hello everyone. It's time to prune my rewards again.

I don't really do loops or photosets anymore, and I'm not comfortable keeping the rewards for those online. They need to be removed, to better reflect how my SFM focus is pretty much purely on fully-voiced videos and films now.

But I hate removing rewards without having something to replace them with. It just feels unfair to the patrons of those rewards, and I consider it basically just kicking them to the curb and telling them to either pay more or fuck off - neither of which are outcomes I want and DEFINITELY aren't messages I want to send.

On that note, I also have three additional rewards that still need replacements: the $1, $20, and $50 rewards.

So, in total I have 6 rewards that need to be replaced: $1, $3, $7, $10, $20, and $50.

The only rewards that I feel get enough use to justify their continued existence are the $5 reward (which by and far is the most-used tier) and the $15 reward (which contributes probably about 80% of the funding for these projects, and so it needs to continue to exist if my works are to be made at all). The $2 reward doesn't get a huge amount of use, but I do think I use it enough to justify it. I certainly plan to post the next two shorts' screenplays, and several pieces of Hiveship literature when they're finally ready to be shared.

If you guys can't tell, I am fucking awful at figuring out rewards.

I'd love to hear thoughts, because I'd hate to just rip out those 6 rewards, and I'd similarly feel bad having 6 empty rewards. I feel bad enough having 3 empty rewards.

So please share your suggestions, thoughts, and ideas about the issue. I'd love to hear them.

If your main focus is putting out shorts and full movies I'd say you have to get rid of the lower tiers and use $5 as your basic spot. Offer up the screenplays, behind the scene making clips and progress reports for that tier. I cut back on some of my other pledges, but plan on keeping with the ones I have been loyal and true to through it all. (: You're one of them :) You do what you think is best not just for you, but us as well and you can't go wrong.

Yeah this is a tough one. Id say drop the $7 rewards down to the $5 rewards and the $3 rewards down to the $2 rewards. Then find some way to make the $10 and $15 rewards a bit better. My thinking is that it gives the Patrons that are at the $3 and $7 tiers a choice they can either take the cheaper rewards or be enticed to go up to the next tier for $2 or $3 respectively. Doing it this way does make it easier for you to do the transition as you will be dropping people down a tier with the same benefits. So long as you let them know "very loudly" that the amount they are paying has gone down for the same rewards. They may have forgotten what tier they are actually at.... me... It will give them something to think about. I don't know if this is more likely to end up costing you or not. I guess with my suggestion it comes down to how many people you have at the $3 and $7 tiers and how they look at the cost over benefits of moving up. Personally I'm sitting at the $3 tier and would likely go to the $5 tier if the $3 tier disappeared. We are all here for different reasons. Personally I'm a patron more as a thank you for all the model work you have done for the rest of us, access to the great discord community you have and the live streams you do. I think you give more back to the lewd animation community then anyone I have come across. So for me, moving to the $5 tier to get access to the WIPs would be enough incentive especially after the $7 tier loops get put down there. TBH I thought I was at the $15 tier this whole time but forgot I had to drop down to $3 last Feb for personal reasons that have since resolved themselves...

Only keep the $5 and $15 tiers. Give rewards like three days earlier for $15 tier and give these patrons the possibility to vote in polls. Then you can still use the $1 tier, by giving rewards of the previous month.

I agree with what most of the other guys above are saying, just make the $5 dollar tier your 'default' tier since that is what gets the most attention. You don't have to get rid of the rewards in the other empty tiers either, you could either roll the $7, $3, $2, $1 all into the $5 tier for those times when you do them. I can only speak for myself, but i pledge to you less to get a reward and more just to say "Hey. You. Yeah, You. You're a cool guy." I wouldn't mind moving up to the $5 dollar tier, i would need to micromanage some of my other tiers first though.

You definitely have too many tiers, and as a result you are offering too many different things. Because you offer too many things, you have too many promises to deliver on. As a starting point consider just offering video as rewards, and forget about your image sets. Then prioritise your videos as: "public release shorts and full vids 720p", "shorts 1080p early access" , "full videos 720p early access", "full videos 1080p early access". Maybe even shorten that list of video categories. Consider only having one super tier, either your $20 or $50 tier; although I don't know what you would offer in that super tier.

Alrighty, I thank everyone for your input! I definitely agree with the general consensus of condensing the $1, $3, $5, $7, and $10 tiers into the $5 tier. I think that's a good idea, and just make it very explicit that I don't regularly do loops or photosets, and I sometimes just post them all onto Twitter anyways - but when I do make them and Patreon them, then they'll be there for the $5 reward. I'll keep the $2 tier as it is, I think it's fair for the content (just text) and frequency (once every 2 or 3 months ideally). And I definitely think the $15 tier is perfectly fine as it is. I've long considered splitting the early access from "1080p early access" to "720p early access" and "1080p normal access." My only concern is where to put the splits, reward-wise. I feel like the early access is more important to most people than the 1080p, though I might be wrong. Basically it's a matter of deciding which one gets to be $15, and where to put the other. If I put the more important one below (say $10), then I end up potentially losing over a thousand dollars a month (assuming all 211 $15 patrons move to $10). If I put the more important one above (say $20), then I end up potentially losing about three thousand a month (assuming all 211 $15 patrons say "fuck that" and just unpledge entirely). Obviously the latter solution is worse, but the former is also raw because that's literally the vast majority of the production cost of the shorts as they are right now. That hit could literally be the difference between being able to make these videos and not. Long story short is that I am sort of in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to tampering with the 1080p early access. If I play it right, then it could end up having no negative effect on the funding of these videos (a positive effect would be even better, but all I want is to avoid a negative effect). But if I play it wrong, I could literally plunge the entire endeavor straight into a six-foot hole. I'm not a gambling man, and 50/50 are odds I'm just not willing to bet the future of my videos on. I'd love to hear some thoughts on it. I think I will make this a separate post as well, to make sure everyone sees it.
