Rabbit.Hole Episode 2 - Progress Report 2 (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

So first of all, let me apologize for the lack of an update last week. If you follow my Twitter, then you probably knew that I was having a rough week. As such, I didn't really get anything done that I deemed worth updating you on.

This week, however, was a different story altogether!

I've not only officially gotten all of the sex animations done and sent out for dubbing, but I also finally finished the series intro! Yes, that's right - Rabbit.Hole gets a proper intro, as if it were an actual television series!

These renders are actually all really old, from before Episode 1's release, with the bukkake-DVa-logo made by Witchking00 even older than the renders. I originally intended for this introduction to be put before the first episode, but a combination of time constraints and production indecision resulted in me choosing to not include it.

The major hurdle was that the original cut of the intro was both waaay too long, and was frankly boring. I have almost 90 seconds of footage rendered for this intro, and the original cut used about 75 seconds of it. For a 4.5-minute video, having a 1.25-minute intro was absurd, and so I just cut the idea wholesale.

But I kept the footage, knowing that I would try again for Episode 2. And here we are, with a snazzy 26-second intro sequence. Another hurdle was music - my composer didn't have the time to record it last time, and while he did have time to this time - and even attempted to! - we learned the hard way he can't compose K-pop.

So I ended up going with the royalty-free track "Inspiring Victory." I needed to do a fair bit of editing to the track to get it to fit the timing of the sequence, but luckily it came with the stems, which made editing it (and removing some fucking obnoxious instruments) a breeze.

All I know, I am extremely please with how this sequence came out, and I think it perfectly summarizes the intended projection for the series. Such things to look forward to - the only downside is how long it'll take to get there, at the breakneck pace of 1 episode a year!

Next week I'll show off some sex animation WIPs, but this intro was a far bigger deal for me.

With the sex sequences done and shipped out for dubbing, the next stage for me is to start blocking out all of the non-sex sequences. It shouldn't take too long, but then, I said these sex sequences shouldn't take too long, either...

All in all, I think we're on course for a mid-to-late July release. It's not the end of June like I originally hoped, but I accepted that simply wasn't going to happen when last week went to shit for me.
