Sorry for the delay on posting this. I celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with a new friend I made in Tokyo!

So from Takamatsu I took a boat to Tonosho. For the ride there I took a high speed boat, and then on the way back I took the ferry.

Tonosho is to my understanding, the main town on Shodoshima island. Shodoshima is known for it’s olive oil! So there’s this little olive mascot everywhere.

Tonosho is also the town featured in Karakai Jozu No Takagi-san. Really excellent manga for learning Japanese by the way!!

I rented a little bike and checked out some shrines. It’s become a hobby to hunt them down. I also visited a few spots from Takagi-san.

Right next to the school from the show, is actually a hike up to a shrine on the cliffs. The hike up was breathtaking, you can see out into the bay at all the other islands in Kagawa. I went on kind of a cloudy, moody day, and I’m actually really grateful. The shrine is called Tomioka Hachiman Shrine. It alone is worth visiting Tonosho for.

After climbing back down, I returned the bike and hopped on a night ferry. I got some coffee and a fruit sandwich to nibble on. The ride back was super fun, some real evangelion looking imagery on the boat.

When I got back to Tonosho, I hopped in the bath and soaked for a while. I’ve walked at least 10 miles every day that I’ve been here and my feet are DEAD. Still worth it tho
