August 1985 brings with it more great cards, as JCP continues its momentum from July. Early on, there’s a ‘Hot Summer Night’ supershow in Hawaii put on by the Maivia family, featuring many JCP stars, and also talent from the WWF and New Japan. 

The Rock 'N' Roll Express and The Russians, along with the Midnight Express, are heating up and drawing large crowds and big gates. Flair continues to work around the territories as the champion, and the NWA Conference takes place in Las Vegas, where a power play of sorts is made to the other territories regarding future working partnerships. 

JCP gets to be a part of a huge Fairgrounds festival show, joining big name musical acts like Foreigner and Oak Ridge Boys. The Great American Bash Tour branding of shows begins, and we start to see the pre-Horsemen combination of Ole, Arn and Tully get paired up in 6-man tag matches!
