I don’t think you need to be a shining example of society to show care for your friends lol. Tanjiro is a good example of a character that is a force of pure good he helps every person he interacts with as long as they aren’t evil. And kills those he deems as evil but I don’t think he has to be pure good to help his friends. Like seeing your friend get beat with a steel pipe while they are on the verge of getting disabled seems like a good time to get active. His goal to get cheeks was funny at first but clearly he doesn’t care about anything else but that so it makes me not care about him if that makes sense. This is the first ep where I actually liked him cause he finally did something.

I can agree, but at the same time, people act like they are best friends. Sure, they had a friendship with each other in the past, but ever since they met each other again, arajin had made it pretty clear that he doesn't want to be friends with him, so you can't exactly call him a bad friend to Matakara when he isn't his friend. If they were mutual friends but Arajin treated them like shit, then id understands the complaints. He is just someone from his past, and something happened that he feels guilty about, so he doesn't want to face him. I'm sure he'll get character development, and they'll be friends/rivals at the end.

I wouldn’t even say it’s the past if it’s as like 4 years ago lol that’s still your friend just cause time passed doesn’t make your friendship less real. If you were friends with someone a couple years ago and you tried to reconnect with them and they acted the way arajin acts it would still be very weird behavior.
