The director said on Twitter that the dance scene wasn't CGI or rotoscoped, but they got a dance school to bring people in and provide references. Kinda nuts animation with that in mind.

So I wonder what Sein’s overall mana level is compared to the rest of the party? The flower was absorbing everyone’s mana, so Stark went down first, then Fern, then Frieren. The only reason Sein was awake last is his innate resistances to curses. But I wonder if he would’ve gone down before or after Fern without the resistances since he’s a supposed prodigy like Heiter.

You would clearly be able to see it in the animation but you don’t. It looks natural and sharp unlike other dancing you see on singing Idol anime where you can tell CGI is used.

It was hand animated using mocap references from actual ballroom dancers. Even the orchestra was drawn from video of the recording riding orchestra so that the hand and finger placements would be exact.

You know, it's POSSIBLE... actually POSSIBLE.... that Fern falling asleep in the cart was just coincidence and genuine sleepiness, and that her falling asleep in the wounds was the curse. It doesn't have to both be the same thing. She woke right back up the first time, so it probably wasn't the curse.

nah this entire episode I thought it was them and they were just living a new life. I was lowkey going crazy wondering why Stark didn't recognize them convincing myself that it's because he was a kid when he left so maybe he didn't remember what they looked like 😭 but their character designs are nearly copy and paste

Such an amazing little detail when Stark was asking Orden about how he felt about the situation. Orden and Stark were both walking the same way. Orden just hides it better. But, they’re both exhausted.
