1. Takemitchy and everyone just found out the other captains got hit with metal pipes by guys on bikes. 2. Kisaki literally yells Takemitchy's name and comes at him with a metal pipe and bike. 3. Takemitchy is not a mind reader so he rightfully assumes he is the target of the attack since he is also a captain and Kisaki is coming straight for him. 4. Because Takemitchy is not a mind reader and believes he is the target of the attack he instinctively guards himself like any human would. 5. Because Takemitchy is a human he can't outrun a bike when he realizes he's not the target of the attack. 6. Takemitchy is not the audience so he isn't seeing flashbacks or death flags being placed on Emma because he doesn't know he's in an anime. 7. Takemitchy never wondered what happened to Emma in the future because Naoto only brought up what happened to the other gang members and you guys never questioned Emma's future as well so to get mad at him for not realizing that would make you guys hypocrites. I don't like Takemitchy as much as the next guy but people really gotta stop being in their feelings and just look at what's happening logically.

And even if he manages to get back to the future before the police come for him (with fingers crossed he’s finished doing his time), what happens if the future still isn’t right? Now he can’t go back to do anything because he’s in prison in the past 💀

ima be honest, once again the anime makes Tokyo Revengers a lot worse and anti-climatic. I reread the manga chapters and the timing of Kisaki, Emma, & Takemitchy was WAAY faster and more impactful than what the anime did. Plus they skipped a chapter too

Come on man, this is one of the situations Takemichi should not be blamed for. Can you dodge and protect yourself against a motorcycle going full speed at you? If the show didn't tell what Izana and Kisaki were planning, we would've assumed Kisaki was going after Takemichi and not Emma. Since Tenjiku was only going after Toman captains, Takemichi could only guess he was the one Kisaki was after. Everything that happened was in a span of a few seconds, but it's just slowed down for the audience to see. Even if Takemichi processed the info about Emma, it was only a few seconds before Kisaki rode in and hit her.

i think y’all also need to remember that in the timeframe of what’s going on it’s been only like a day or two since what happened with Naoto in the future and what happened with Mucho, obv anime time makes it seem longer but it’s only been like a day since Takemichi said he was going to kill him so it’s not that he’s doing other stuff, how is he magically supposed to locate Kisaki and buy a gun as a teenager in Japan 💀also he thought kisaki was after him with the bike bc it only made sense for him to try and kill him, that’s why he didn’t push emma away, he was going to take the hit. I think you really are looking at it with the America perspective, but it’s not like they sell guns at Walmart in Japan lol

I also think it's funny how the statement "Go kill Kisaki" comes up without considering the obvious question of "Where is Kisaki". Literally no one knows where Kisaki lives, where he hangs out or if he has multiple hideouts. So, even ignoring how it would be impossible for Takemichi to get a gun as a Japanese teenager, since he could also kill Kisaki with a knife or bat, the bigger issue is how would he find Kisaki, and would he ever be in a place where he would be vulnerable enough to kill. Side note: Mikey said himself that his older brother was dumb, bad with women, and one of the weakest fighters in the gang, but he was the leader because he could rally the gang and everyone trusted him.

btw i know i’m late, but hopefully people see this. in the manga! it was instantly, like one panel was kisaki coming in hot and the next panel was hina already getting hit. the anime did such a terrible job adapting this.

Alright after seeing what happened, here’s what I think. One I think y’all need to remember Takemichi is a average joe among super fighters but his ability too tank and stall time is on par with the others ability to fight and win plus he brings ppl together so all these super feats your hoping for will never happen, I’m probably not as bothered because I also watched world trigger where the mc was smart but weaker than his comrades so I’m kinda used too it. Now for the Emma situation, given he had just recently been shot by kisaki, believed kisaki could travel back just like him & up until that point no gang going after “innocent ppl” he had no reason too think she was the target, plus he has to be extra careful cause if he dies it’s actual game over this time. After the bike went past him which is when he realized he wasn’t the target it was too late to do anything about the speeding bike. I do think he could’ve alerted everyone around him too the danger better & I get the whole vibe of being frustrated with a character like takemichi but that’s the premise here - a weak mc with strong allies.

the thing is that they gave us this whole sherlock description of takemichi figuring out why Mikey went off the rails in the future, makin it seem like he was figuring out that she was the target only to have him do nothing with that info and still let her get hit. i think thats honestly more frustrating. if they left that part out until after it happened then i think it would be more understandable as to why Takemichi let her get hit. but since they basically told the audience what was going to happen it pisses the watchers off bc we expected Takemichi to do something in that moment. its honestly like the mangaka thinks the audience is slow and that we wouldnt think she was the target. and honestly they do that a lot in this anime, i think thats were majority of its annoyance comes from is them revealing things thats already obvious to us like its some big mind F.

I feel bad for Takemichi because usually, when you are battling an opponent, you have to worry about not merely reacting to their plays. In his case, he's stuck trying to prevent a prior outcome while Kisaki is free to execute a future goal. Kisaki doesn't have to worry about half of what Takemichi does. In order for him to make any headway, Takemichi needs to adopt that mindset in some way.
