For Sylphie's hair explanation, it changed to white due to the extreme stress of the whole sky situation. Its a common like trope in certain media that when you get so terrified that your hair loses all color and just turns straight up white.

You are correct, technically she went beyond mana exhaustion(hair change is usually not permanent but they didnt go into this in the anime) but she used magic instantly after draining all her mana when she hit the boar. It's been a min since ive read it so i could be leaving something out. You can see her hair change, from mana exhaustion before actually making the final contact.

Its part 6 of a 7 part story. part 1 has an ova I think, part 5 is covered in 2 movies and part 7 is a movie aswell. So unless your up for playing the game give up on understanding everything in it. It is fairly contained in itself tho so its fine to be enjoyed on its own.

So this is an episode 0 because this is all stuff that the light novels up to the end of s1 had covered. It interspersed little bits of this. Like Sylphy's fall and saving Princess Ariel and Luke was in... I think the end of volume 3, when the Mana Displacement happens

It won't follow the manga, but the light novels. So there's am extra volume to this that is light novel exclusive (LN volume 7). It tells about what happens to Rudy inbetween the end of last season and where the manga picks up. It is getting a manga adaptation atm. I really enjoyed the arc.

So something they left out from the light novel is that the royal family are know to be perverted and the princess swings both ways, the discussion they were having while Sylphie was falling was about panties, its the reason why Sylphie reacted that way when the princess told her to sleep in her room.

FSF has characters from both, and knowing who they are beforehand gives good context to them watching FSF, and makes their appearances all the more impactful.
