The thing is, society encourages the concept that family is supposed to always love one another, no matter what, but I simply can't fathom "loving" someone who abused you for over a decade and drove you to attempt murder. You can call Yuzuha mature for making that comment, but I think the "love" comment was a mistake on the author's part. I could perhaps understand her feelings if she suffered from something like Stockholm syndrome, but I digress. If we'd seen a flashback of Taiju before the mom passed away, perhaps we could have seen whether the guy had any redeeming qualities in the past. Unfortunately, the author failed to show us WHY his siblings should "love" him, aside from the narrative that family must love family no matter what.

Yes, I have a brother. If you were to ask why I love him, I'd say it's because he's family and we grew up together, which I realize sounds contradictory to my previous comments. However, unlike Taiju, my brother has never given me a reason to hate him. If he'd abused me for years, we wouldn't be in touch anymore.

If you think about it tho, Taiju was fighting like 5 dudes for like an hour if not longer, he got stabbed, dropped, and was tired before Mikey showed up. Mikey would still probably beat him, it just probably wouldnt have been that easy.

this late as hell but regarding the heels for anyone watching, that was just part of bosozoku(japanese motorcycle gang) fashion at the time, they just wore heels sometimes bc they thought it was cool. they also wore skirts and makeup sometimes for the same reason. manga author put it in the show without really making a big deal abt it bc that's what he saw growing up

thing about Mikey that makes it weird for me is that his fighting style isn't characteristic of a hoodlum. it's as if he was trained in some kind of martial arts to have that much flexibility with them legs.
