I actually liked Rock a bit in this episode. It was stupid, but it was also brave cause he literally was willing to speak his mind to the biggest crime lord he met. My issue was putting Revy in that situation, but it honestly reminded me of Takemitchy standing up to Taiju. Not everyone is a natural killer but if they can stand up to those who are then they get respect in my book 📖

2023-02-23 04:06:23 This was probably one of my favorite scenes for rock and it can get misinterpreted into rock being some type of talk no jutsu , hero complex guy, but it straight up shows us that darker side people that Dutch, Balalaika, the Nun from the church, all these big named people have seen in rock. What he said is straight up what he feels. Rock basically says that he doesn't actually think she's morally wrong, instead he's just playing a game trying to save random people, he isn't really doing anything morally superior to Balalaika's own actions, it's just something he likes doing. That amuses Balalaika enough she lets him go, especially because that thing revy sees in rock, that good life, doesn't really exist anymore. It's why she was rather sad when he said that the man he used to be, died the day he met her. He literally views dealing with the lives of people and handling all these crazy criminals as, just a hobby, the mf is tapped, you can even see in a few of scenes just how detached he is from the crazy shit going around him. Rock's "justice" is simply a means to enact his hobby, he just does it to see what happens.

Yeah, it’s like how Balalaika’s “hobby” is to make war, and see how far and how high see can take herself, while Rock’s “hobby” is saving people he wants to save and seeing how many he can save. While Rock’s passion may come across as more moral, Rock is admitting that it’s ultimately just as self-centered as Balalaika’s.

The point is that Rock is just as suicidal as everyone else in Roanapur but he's just a little more dedicated to it which is why he doesn't carry a gun. Revy is the one who doesn't really know which world she's in cause she's only in Roanapur because she thought she didn't have a choice. When Rock shows up she starts thinking that maybe she could live in the nice safe world with Rock not realizing that Rock isn't even in that world.
