First Jolyne against Heaven, then Unohana being the 1st Kenpachi as a lady above man and now Makima on demon time along with Kobeni actually being able to hold her own from what we thought was just a timid ordinary girl. What is with women in anime turning up out of nowhere this month like never before? Like Holy Fucking Shit. Also I want to say who Makima reminds me of and who she is likely inspired by but it would spoil the whole story.

Sheera was correct in that when katana man said “all of chainsaw’s people have died” he was referring to everyone who was on denji’s side, and he was discussing all of the people they sent out to shoot the devil hunters, that’s why he thought all of them, including makima, were already dead.

Every time the Snake Devil was used, the girl using it had a fingernail removed. So when she runs out of nails it likely can’t be used anymore until they regrow. With something like Himeno’s Ghost Devil, she had unlimited use of the arm after giving up an eye, and the arm was unable to be touched or even seen, though it wasn’t insanely powerful or anything. When she tried to get as much power from it as she could, it was open for attack, which Snake girl took advantage of. So the Snake devil is best for maximum damage, but it’s not particularly good for long term use. The Ghost devil is best for long term use, but it doesn’t inflict the absolute raw damage the Snake does. Makima on the other hand… well, we don’t know much about her power yet, but she at the very least needs people to sacrifice as well as the names of her targets. The “shrine at a high altitude” probably has something to do with it too. She was all the way in Kyoto while her targets were in Tokyo. So yeah… bullshit ability indeed. There’s also those shooters she butchered on the train, but they were right in front of her, so the sacrifice thing might’ve had something to do with the distance.

Himeno said it herself. Kobeni is super strong but doesnt know how to use her strength. Back during the eternity devil, Kobeni had the rest of her team to fall back on, but this ep, her partner died protecting her, and she was left alone. With no one around to fall back on, she's pretty much in "kill or be killed" mode even though she was panicking and getting hysterical the entire time

The devil was too strong for her, so the only reasonable thing was to sacrifice Denji. While here, Katana Man is a hybrid and Sawatari(snake girl) is human. Both can get easily hurt so..

Ghost literally refused to cooperate so she couldn't use the hand(even if she could, Katana guy would chop them up before Ghost hand could reach Denji, even Power couldn't see his moves). She knew she was dying/passing out so she made the noble decision to sacrifice all of herself and tried to defeat Katana to at least save Aki.

they did something a little different than the manga which kinda undersells how good kobeni is, in the manga the part where kobeni popped off the only reason she didn't kill the girl was because she ran out of bullets after she shot katanaman twice since he hadn't reloaded since he shot everyone and tried shooting kobeni, but in the anime they made her miss her shots which is kinda trash.
