one of the biggest things that makes team v nasty is nagi. this episode really emphasized nagi being lazy and not wanting to put in effort for anything, but still manages to be nasty at soccer which is wild

The technique that Nagi used to basically cancel out the rotation of the pass is crazy cause trapping the ball perfectly like that allows you to have more options to take when you receive the ball. If you trap the ball the wrong way most of your options are limited cause you spend more time getting the ball under your control.

There's a spinoff manga that came out recently that goes back and follows the story from the beginning with the perspective of Nagi and Reo and it goes hard, it's actually safe to read as an anime only too since it's covering events that already happened

Real talk though if my kid is 16 and they showed no interest in soccer before and all of a sudden they said they want to be a pro I would tell them to be more realistic with their goals as messed up as that is.

@Sami Mottaghian I'm definitely not saying it's impossible but there's a very slight chance of being able to go pro despite having a late start in the sport. I just wouldn't want to take that chance with my kid.

@Argo2United it kind of is cause Kenma is physically weak so he uses his brain to figure out how to do the least amount of work to produce the desired results while Nagi is capable of doing whatever he wants but he lacks the motivation to try hard. Basically Kenma needs to do the least amount of work to keep up and Nagi is just straight up lazy.

In Brazil and Argentina 16 year olds who actually have a future in the sport are already playing professionally and in Europe anyone who wants to go pro is training with a pro clubs academy from the time they’re a child. Soccer is not a sport you can break into late if you want to be a professional.

@gamerman1902 exactly soccer seems like a sport that requires an insane amount of technical skills to actually be decent at. Those skills can be built up through time but if you try to start late you're definitely going to have a hard time on the pitch.

Maybe they were ranked in lower buildings bc of teamwork issues/personality rather than scoring competence? Ego did say the original placement was his biased/arbitrary decision. Like Barou/Nagi is the top of this building and I'm not expecting them to compete with the top building and players. But they don't look like they should be wayyyy lower than the people in the next 2 buildings.

@Tay in this situation because Reo never showed interest in soccer before my initial response would be pretty much the same as his dad. But if he is adamant about wanting to play soccer then I can't really stop them by force, at that point I would support them but I just want them to actually know how the odds are stacked against him for starting soccer late.

i agree with sheera. never give kids what they want, my dad was like that for me and now im learning to be independent so late in my life (24) which isnt old but i recently learned things now that were common knowledge to others like relying on people to do things for me and its simple things like getting ur car check, garbage trucks come a certein days, etc but the one thing i can say i knew since birth that i will always be proud if is i been knew to always wash ur ass, ALWAYS wash ur ass guys its not gay its being clean!

Im always conflicted with those character types cuz its easy to say hes a spoiled brat but in all reality he just spent his whole life succeeding through his own talent and wanted a challenge in life.Also hate that forcing your kids to be mini versions of you is so common,never understood the thought process of forcing living on someone cuz you wanted something to take care of and being shocked when they want to be spoiled.
