Hiragana is the most basic form of writing in Japanese. It's usually used for early learning of the language, or as connecting parts of sentences. Katakana is usually used for foreign words, but it is also used for animal names (like "mushi" for "bug," etc). I think there might be a few other things it can be used for, though I don't recall off the top of my head. Kanji is like, the main form of writing in Japanese that's derived from Chinese, and also advanced in terms of language learning. While hiragana and katakana are syllables, kanji characters are usually entire words, or prefixes and suffixes.

The New Kaede's been living with him for years. I'd say around 1-3 years. Not just a few months. This new Kaede's lost of memory and personality all happened when he was just in Middle school. He's a second year in High school at this point of the series.

You have to understand that if you had the possibility that your self would disappear forever, even if it was who you used to be, you wouldnt want that or at least youd be terrified of it. For Sakuta imagine the sister youve now essentially raised for the last 2 years of your life were to disappear, even if it is your old sister it was still your sister who is now gone

The best way to understand how Sakuta feels is if you view both Kaedes as two different people. He spent the most time with Kaede 1 but she basically left out of nowhere and Kaede 2 took her place for two years. Sakuta knew that Kaede 1 would come back eventually but he also knew that when Kaede 1 came back Kaede 2 would cease to exist so he's more shocked over losing Kaede 2 than happy that Kaede 1 is back cause Kaede 2 pretty much died.

I also think that's part of why Kaede 2 was so constantly flirty with Sakuta. She wasn't born his sister and raised that way for 10+ years. She's a new person with little sibling attachment to him. Since she's a new person she doesn't fully view him as her brother but more as a kind boy that takes care of her. That.... Or she just watches too much anime 😂

i think of this situation like yugioh. when yami and yugi split at the end. ofc the situation is a little different but its similar in what sakuta is feeling. they were essentially two different people and he loved them both as sisters. im sure a part of him is glad his old sister is back but the shock, sadness and feeling of despair over losing the other side of Kaede overwhelmed him more than having his sister's old memories back. in a way, for him and new kaede, its like she died.

I was thinking her story was more darker and she actually “killed” herself, just like “killed” her identity or something so the new Kaede of she started going back to the old self she was literally gonna die cause there is no old self to go back to, that’s why I thought it was hurting. Sheera’s perspective makes sense too!

It would make sense cause she lost her memories so she wouldn’t see him as a brother, cause she has said pretty inappropriate things to him and has flirted with him, when the old Kaede woke up that flirty personality seemed to be gone.

I would say, losing this version of Kaede would hit him harder, because more than them being siblings, he was her caretaker. He had to spend more time with and understand this Kaede more than he did with the original.

Dont know if you'll see this roshi, but about the japanese writing systems: There is hiragana, katakana, and kanji. The first 2 are phonetic alphabets and actually both contain the exact same phonetics (the letters look different tho) but are used for different situations. For example, katakana is used for like borrowed words or certain onomatopoeia. Kanji is not phonetic; it's a set of characters (derived from Chinese characters) where each character has it's own meanings/reading. And there are tens of thousands of different characters BUT the average person may be able to recognize about 2,000. The way these kanji are read -- and even their meaning -- may change depending on the context. (for example, compound words containing 2 or more kanji.) As you can tell, it's pretty complex so people spend much of their schooling learning new kanji all the way up until high school.

I think she's just EXTREMELY childish because she's basically a new person. She didn't "grow up" at all. I think the flirty stuff was mostly a joke. She was just extremely attached to him because he was her caretaker and only contact with the outside world for almost 2 years.

I recommend Fruits Basket to replace this! I know for sure you guys will LOVE it, the main antagonist is a very interesting character overall. the writing of the story is really incredible and the way everything ties together in the end is sooooo good. please put fruits basket on the next poll!!!

Last way is Kanji which are chinese characters (thousands of them) which can be put into hiragana/katakana. Kanji have multiple meanings which can be read into different sounds (different kana or gana letters). Katakana (used for english words) and Hiragana make the same sound but are written differently (think two alphabets). For example a Kanji can have three different hiragana readings.
