So, her uncle might have pull a monster play. The fact that a meeting was called for all staff and officers before he walked away with a gun to said meeting. I wonder if he went there and killed all the higher ups that could take command from her. Leaving her the highest rank officer, so she could take command. Is that what he did?

Great reaction and I was 100% waiting for this episode specifically like many others. One line of dialogue in this episode was not included in the anime for most likely censorship reasons as Lena's uncle insinuated that if the 86 found her or I guess anyone, they would... rhymes with grape. There is a quote that implies this, but you really need read into it and when its said, but its when he says "But you've studied enough history to know that that wont be the case"(with the camera pointing at her chest). Implied after he mentions that they'd be luck if its a massacre at most. Just to mention something for the next episode, a very important piece to a part of why Shin acted the way he did was completely omitted from the anime for whatever reason. So when you guys react to the next episode, I will explain in full detail about this omitted bit.

I like the optimism, Roshi, but Lena was calling all the 86 to come inside the Gran Mur and make a defensive stand after the Legion broke through. Both her uncle and Shin's group assume everyone in the Republic is as good as dead, but we'll have to keep watching to see if that's true or not.

The Uncle was spitting mad facts to Lena though. Knowing history, and the hatred the 86 have for the Republic, the best possible outcome would be a Massacre of the Alba. But all those camera angles aimed at her chest implies the 86 would r*pe her, like how different groups have done in history when pillaging a city. Seeing the numbers sent to the Republic, it really is a 'child's dream' that Lena would be able to rally everyone together and hold off the Legion to live. But her Uncle is gonna give her that chance. I can respect it.

I was looking through book 2 and I found a quote that perfectly describes how the federacy sees the 86 "They weren't innocent children wounded by persecution. The soldiers could see them only as monsters. Machines of slaughter, bred in the republics crucible of hatred and violence. Demons of War that rejected all salvation and compassion, born as man and twisted into beast through no fault of their own. Their warped hearts were beyond saving." 86 vol 2 pg 203

Hey just wanted to give some details about the reginleifs our squad uses -So for starters they upgraded the republic juggernauts from a 57mm to an 88mm smoothbore cannon, also has better shock absorbers, better Armour, a properly sealed cockpit, etc. They are also capable of firing many different types of ammunition. -Shin: 88mm smoothbore cannon, 2 high-frequency blades, and 57mm piledrivers equipped on each of the reginliefs legs -Raiden: exchanges main cannon for an auto cannon with rapid reload and heavy machine guns to support Shin since he's always in the thick of it with him -Kurena: true to her name of gunslinger she's an excellent shot so she exchanges her main gun for an extra long barreled 88mm cannon for long distance sniping, she also has a headset that displays things like wind speed and direction -Anju: exchanges main gun for a multi-rocket launch pad for area suppression to support the vanguard -Theo: no big upgrades but the most notable attribute are the grappling hooks since he's an expert at 3D maneuvers If I got anything wrong feel free to correct me, cannot wait for vol 9 in Feb I think?
