I find it funny how Carmilla is a parallel to Dracula but she gets no sympathy. Like they’re both driven mad and consumed by rage, Dracula because his wife was murdered and Carmilla because she was mistreated by men for centuries, but Carmilla she’s so hated by them. Wasn’t Roshi all about Draculas murder early on?

The difference is Carmilla treats everyone else like shit. Dracula was at least nice to Isaac and hector and understood why all the vampires were getting angsty. Carmilla just hates everyone

the parallels do line up when it comes to letting the actions of those who've wronged them in the past affect others and the innocent however their motivations are different and that's what makes a big difference. Due to how recent it was of his wife being killed, it gives him more of a sympathetic/empathetic reason for us, plus with the show further validating Vlads mission with showing various instances of humans not changing and wanting to overcome the very same kind of ignorance that brought him and her together in the first place! but with Carmilla as understandable as it is that she turned that way bc of her experiences, trauma has never been an objectively justifiable reason to inflict cruelty onto others and that's why most people cant get behind/like her character. its like a "I'm doing this bc I've tried it another way and once again, they did not live up to her(his wife's) expectations and even took the most important thing to me ever so i give up on them" vs "the traumas of my past affect me to the point where I've become just like the one that made me like this".

I don’t think the ring is like some omnipotent item that controls everything he does, I think it just makes it so he has to do what they say, but he can do what he wants otherwise, like he’s a slave but if they don’t give him any orders he’s ‘free’ until they do at least I think. Kind of like the command seals.

Lenore and Hector’s relationship is so spicy 👀 it seems like last season Hector was being sincere and Lenore duplicitous, and this season it’s switched around, yet they have the same flirty dynamic

I love how noticeably tired Trevor and Sypha are in the barn fight. Normally Sypha had deadly accuracy with her icicles but at first she was hitting non vital spots and even missing a lot. And of course Trevor had his shenanigans with the bucket 😂 I wonder if those guard dudes might have lived if they were well rested (though c’mon dude pay attention to the monster right in front of you 😆)
