Hey roshi just a little heads up to how powerful Archer is the arrow he shoot at caster actually missed her she was just in the realm of the arrow when it miss, the arrow was that strong that that just being near it caused that much damage.

Obviously it isn't true, and Archer is being overtly pessimistic, but his argument is basically: "I kill you today, or they kill you tomorrow, but if I kill you today I can save everyone else tomorrow. Either way you're dead, but if you die by my hand you won't die in vain."

Get off the hate train if you want to get a shirou emiya your ass likes than play the visual novel first than come back here or watch the god damn “ Oath under snow” movie to have a good idea on his whole character because you guys say that you hate him without realizing that they animator that did this didn’t do his character just because in the game is was mostly inner monologues in these situations. As you play the game you will understand shirou better.

I’ve known about and followed the fate franchise for some years now, and even with all the servants I’ve seen and shows I’ve watched this Archer is still one of my favorite characters in the whole franchise, he’s so damn cool

I might be wrong but I don't think caster is straight up killing people. She said she did kill a few before she got the hang of it but she's basically just draining them dry and leaving them in a coma. still shitty but at least they aren't dead.

Shirou: "Just let go of me! I can take care of this myself! I don't need your help Archer" Shirou's head: "I've been saved but I just can't accept this. No, more than that I can't stand to be a burden on him. Archer should've been able to escape by now if he were by himself. But the exit is farther now that he came to save me. He must be an easy target for Caster, as she is above us." Shirou has a problem with being saved because of his own guilt towards being saved by Kiritsugu. He really sees himself as worthless and that no other person/servant should ever put themselves at risk for him because he doesn't deserve to live just like he didn't deserve to live when he got rescued by Kiritsugu. Basically survivor's guilt. Ufotable kinda fucked up showing this. A big theme of the series is Shirou's tendency for suicidal acts because of his lack of self-worth. This is a major point, especially in the movies. So it's important to understand how little Shirou cares about himself.

Even if Caster's killing people and Archer's letting her, those two are prioritizing the people they care about over random people. And Archer knows to leave the opponents he's confident about beating to after the opponents he's not confident about beating. He doesn't believe he could beat everyone one after the other, just like he doesn't think he could save everyone, so he's waiting to third-party Caster and Berserker's fight and kill off the wounded victor.

The biggest casualties of the adaptations will forever be the fact that literally most of the source material is internal monologue and thought processes which are all just cut out. Legit such an amazing character deconstructing and reconstructing the "I must save everyone" type of protagonist in almost every angle between the 3 arcs

hes fake because Caster summoned him. There is another Assassin but its not relevant to this timeline. He's also considered "fake" because sasaki is not a real person in history so he's just a nameless swordsman who adopted the personality of sasaki based on legend which he himself mentions numerous times.

Yo tsubame gaeshi is such a nasty move in any anime. Like the sound effects and everything in that scene was fantastic. Also I don't think the grail wars have official rules. It's literally just the church trying to keep it as fair and somewhat respectable as possible. So if one master and servant just wanted to kill people they could.

The unlimited budget works meme comes from the Fate/Apocrypha which has the most over the top fights in the series. Then the heaven's Feels movies came out and seeing Fate with movie budget really blew that shit out of the water. Edit. The Grand order show and movies are also really fucking cool and have animated fights that rival most anime movies in general, which is why I keep recommending them in the community tab :p

Its more that they have a responsibility to keep things under wraps. Zero Caster was basically giving zero fks about that and were drawing too much attention, even summoning a kaiju in town. This caster is more careful and not leaving a body count.

This episode is the beginning of why Shirou is one of my favorite anime "main" characters. He's just enough of a idiot to make you frustrated with him, but earnest enough to want to root for him and see his come up. In anime and real life, the world is a complicated place. Seems to me like Archer and Shirou have laid the foundation for some hard questions with no easy answers.

Just gonna mention this since it was brought up about what kinds of people are summonable by the holy grail. They don't mention this in either Zero or Stay night, but during the 3rd grail war (right before zero) the einzberns summoned a servant that was set apart from the normal seven classes, called "avenger" who is angra mainu. They were weaker than a mage, but whenever they died, the holy grail was corrupted, making it possible to summon heroes AND villains as servants.

Apocrypha wasnt made by UFOTABLE. The meme came from the 2nd half of this season. Ufotable actually has only worked on 3 fate stories being Zero, UBW, and the Heaven’s Feel movies.

I highly recommend you guys to check out the Heaven's feel movie trilogy of Fate Stay Night. An alternate ending to the series with even True Unlimited Budget. I personally liked that route more and you a bit more background on some characters that didn't get to shine in the show. Please upvote for them to see!!

She said herself that the death of the first people she drained was a mistake and that she refined the method to not kill anymore. She is actually not a bad spirit. She could have not wasted any time refining her method. She chose to do so. Maybe out of pride for her craft but she did it anyway. The way she talks mean is kinda adorable you understand it once you learn about her past.
