The show isn't about sexual love, each episode shows different love. Whether it be unrequited, between siblings/family, for work, conventional love, etc. Age gap aside, loving someone doesn't mean they're seen sexually or are physically attracted...most of the time

Oh man, that episode we are all waiting for is really near. I'm so excited for their reaction to that. Btw, the age gap in this story, though questionable for us, is a reflection of our society in the past. I know for one my great grandparents married very young and their age gap was waaay off too. The time period of this show seems to mimic our society back in 1920's when marrying at 14 is not out of the question, and mortality rate is high and people are basically YOLO-ing all over.

I like to think of Violet's relationship with the Major as just her loving him in general friendly, familial, romantic none of them really apply it's how she cares about someone...Although it may be possible she sees him as a father figure or indeed be romantically in love with him. On the other hand the Major is giving me very powerfull vibes of someone who loved Violet as a daughter...And talking about daughters...can't wait for those little tearjerkers.

Violet was brought to the company to work there but not as a doll initially. At first she was sorting mail and then started making deliveries but like Sheera said she chose to work as a doll because when she heard what their job was she thought of it as a duty she needed to take in order to understand the concept of love.
