Economic sanctions have never worked and while a proxy war is better than an all-out world war, they are still unnecessary and almost entirely staged by the US for their own benefit (not for its people, but for the people in power). Not that other countries never start proxy wars, but... the US starts more of them than the rest of the world combined and then some.

Lol I find it so funny how every reactor I have seen that watches Tanya always think Nazi... this is WW1 (ish)... Like..l the German Empire was a thing and the way they are set up and even dressed is much closer to that than Nazi Germany xD

Tanya basically but her battalion through several different special forces training in the one month. Some from the navy seals, special forces, SAS, and many more. She even but them through interrogation training. She basically made the first, and probably best. Special Forces Group in this world. She also made sure no one dies during the training, that would leave a bad mark on her resume. What they did not explain is that the mages use many different spell simultaneously. They have an active and passiv shield. They use magic to cancel out pressure, heat/cold, and even protect them against thin air while flying up in 8000 Meter, thats about 8700 yards.

Dakian is a reference to the old Dacia country, which was later attacked by the Roman Empire and fully conquered or Roumania (and Moldova) of today. Or the land of "Dracula", if that's more known in the west. I am from Roumania, so I just wanted to point that out. Much love! :)

Dakia was a reference to many countries in WW1 who didn't understand the importance of technology and air supremacy, and actually went to war on horseback with swords (no joke). I like that we're reminded that Tanya has a huge edge over everyone else strategy wise, having learnt about two world wars and knowing of modern strategies

When Tanya was speaking in the international comms at the captial of Daika, that was her actual voice. Pitch, tone, and everything. The usual speaking voice that we hear her speaking in is just her deepening her natural pitch. She dislikes the pitch at which her actual voice is at so she forcefully deepens it every time she talks

When Tanya kicked the snow out of that soldier's lungs, to all the other soldiers it was like a miracle. At that time, with that medical science, he was expected to be dead. That's why everyone reacted to it so strongly. Because they kinda thought "she won't even let me die if I'm about to!"

Yeah Idk why Lupa thought it was unrealistic. I could get from where he's getting from since 1 month really is too short of a time period. However, what they didn't know was that the soldiers who signed up for the new unit are people who were already highly trained within the military to begin with.

Just a clarification: Tanya did exactly what she was hinted to do. When Leutenant Colonel told her to learn some Dakian he hinted that with the power of her battalion she might as well advance further even though there was no such order. And there was no such order because technically they (the Empire) are the ones being invaded.

I'd like to point out that that's her NORMAL voice, hence why she had those expressions about the "acting" line; she's just forcing her voice to sound lower than it normally is, to appear more intimidating, despite physique, hence why it doesn't usually sound like that

Its not crazy to have ROE (Rules of engagement) or war rules ....without it you would see just how evil humans can be. They would do things you could never imagine and think its justified.

Dakia is based mostly on Romania, with a bit of other nearby countries like Poland thrown in. Several nations that participated in World War I were not ready for how different it would be from previous wars. The first powered airplane had flown only a decade earlier, so the concept of air superiority was pretty new to everyone, and nobody had actually attempted to drop bombs from aircraft until then. Relatively new technology like belt-fed machine guns rendered old tactics worthless, but that didn't stop some armies from attempting frontal assaults of infantry and cavalry that were mowed down by rapid-fire artillery. Wartime strategy had to evolve and a lot of nations had to play catch-up when their old, reliable tactics failed.

heh i get what hes talking about though. even in a setting like that, dramatic liberty can strain narrative flow by being a bit TOO liberal with its story telling. like dropping shells on your own troops for 36 hours is probably something no country is going to do for training, even in a war setting. probably half those mages would be dead if it were a bit more realistic. its not like the trenches of ww1, they were more or less out in the open with focus fire on them alone .

Nowadays wars are just being passive aggressive with ships and planes. Very small scale special ops fights, hacking and economic sanctions. Which is for the best, because we don't want nukes raining down on us.
