First part of this story wise was pretty good to me but drops the ball at the end of part one and part 2 goes back to the poor storytelling the series is known for.

For me the first part of season one started of good but the ending was lackluster cause Kayaba didn't give a concrete reason for trapping thousands of players in a game where they could die, the second part of season one wasn't appealing to me as much, and then GGO had a cool concept to it but it was just mid for me. It took me a while to get back into this show but Alicization was actually better than I thought it was going to be.

I understand why you fell off. For me, I stuck it through because I was a genuine normie who lacked taste. Fortunately, the Mother's Rosario arc was really heartfelt and touching. Haven't watched Alicization yet, but MR was SAO's best arc by a bit so... Oh! And I also started reading SAO Progressive which is good so far

It doesn't help that SAO before Alicization was shit lets be real, the Gary Sue MC was shit, and the author learned his mistakes by Alicization

Oh no I'm not recommending they actually do that, I'm saying there's a _great_ argument for skipping the first Sword Art Online, and it's the first 2 seasons of Sword Art Online. So if I found out they just skipped everything and started on this season I'd completely understand.

The majority doesn't love SAO. If they did it would be more popular. I have mha as one of my favorite series and I understand that MHA is literally the biggest normie series right now but I watch tons of other anime and some are arguably complicated like rezero or even mushoku tensei. Frankly I just don't care to watch SAO anymore. The majority who aren't watching SAO are people that don't want to give it another shot after the huge trashfest that happened with it years ago or like me to where I frankly don't give a fuck about watching it anymore.

@XerBlade SAO overall is very hated in general lol. Im pretty sure a lot of ppl thinks SAO has hella issues in the show, and it hasn't progressively gotten any better. Dude multiple websites, and YouTube channels rate SAO at an all time low, especially it being extremely popular. A lot ppl see SAO has THE MOST overrated anime series ever. Lol and also DragonBall Super is also extremely overrated. It was a horrible squeal to the DB franchise if we being non-bias here ppl...

I'll be honest, SAO is like one of the worst shows. like this series of SAO Alicisation both seasons, are like really good because of the animation quality, storyline, character development, etc while the previous seasons are bad. season 1 was trash like lets be honest, the fights were meh, the quality was average, the plot was plain and simple character development was mediocre and the fan service bit at the end of it (some of you will know what i mean) was just dumb. season 2 was again meh there was nothing special about it and in all honestly there were waay better animes that those. however ordinal scale, the movie was impressive and actually felt like a step up from the previous seasons and this season is actually enjoyable to watch, apart from that stupid fan service they added in

people hate this show because Season 2 was awful the ending to season 1 was awful gun gale was really awful and the fan base for the show is unbearable to deal with. Alicization however was a good step in the right direction with the 2nd part being the best the entire franchise has to offer ( mostly because a certain someone isn't involved for 90% of it and better characters get time to showcase themselves and develop )

Main reason why the show gets hate is Kirito is one of the most boring MCs on the planet with a cast of one dimensional females (aside from maybe Asuna) who only serve to be part of his harem. The whole show just revolves around making Kirito look "cool" or "badass" when it really comes off as cringe. Every male character that isn't Kirito is either a creep, evil or irrelevant to the plot all to make Kirito look more appealing to the females in the show. Only the blond hair kid doesn't fit into this category but he's still made at times to look inferior to Kirito. Over all this season is much better than the first 2 seasons and while I can see how some people can like the first 2 seasons it's a bit silly to think why you wouldn't understand why the show gets so much hate. It's pretty warranted.

Completely incorrect. While the female characters are supporting to Kirito, they are all dynamic with their own issues. The Gun Gale Online Arc alone was deep as hell, while still keeping the my theme of the show, which is how the VR world can twist a person's reality so deeply that they no longer can tell the difference between the two

if they really wanted to help kirito, the rath group, would have drop hints that he would only know to help him but they want to keep doing their shady shit all to get that ai to make soldiers.
