Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Inclement Cluster — A cluster of quartz crystals that can summon a rain cloud as if by a modified create or destroy water spell, which also grants temporary resistance to fire damage. The cloud always stays near the cluster when summoned. It can also ward an area against fire, preventing the space from being lit and catching ablaze.

2) Snake Eyes Sword — The hilt of this greatsword features a cobra with its hood prominently displayed. When you make an attack and roll a 1 on both of the weapon's damage dice you can choose to cast the charm person spell and the target does not get advantage on the saving throw. When cast in this way, the spell can also target snakes in addition to humanoids.

3) Tenth Circle — A powerful, sickly sword that revels in various blood sacrifices. Its single eye can paralyze or strike fear into foes that look at it, as well as rejuvenate allies using your life force.

4) Shattermind Shield — This cracked mirror shield maintains its shape by mystical energy lashing the various shards together. You can throw the shield at a creature within range, targeting them with the maze spell. A target that escapes suffers a short-term madness for 1 minute or a long-term madness if it spends the full duration there. Once cured, the target can increase an ability score at the expense of another.

5) Starmetal Circlet — This dark metal headpiece offer a measure of magnetic control when worn. You can use your reaction to influence an attack made with a metal weapon or piece of ammunition within range, choosing to either add or subtract from the attack roll after it is made but before the results are determined. Additionally you can interact with metal object as if by the mage hand spell.

6) Deep Beast Barding — A set of armor for a beast that grants it a bonus to AC and its Charisma score. If the creature is a Ranger companion, the Ranger can speak the barding's command word to transform the companion into a Glavrezu, Hezrou, or Vrock.

7) Axe of Essential Inversion — A greataxe which deals additional force damage to celestials and fiends. When dealing damage to a celestial or fiend, you can attempt to curse it, temporarily removing its resistance to specific damage types, depending on its creature type. If you reduce a creature to 0 hp while it is cursed by this axe, you can stabilize it and transform it into the other creature type permanently. When you do this, there is a chance the axe loses the ability to affect the type of creature that was transformed.
