Hey naughty people,

I got a comment that shot me down today. It’s not the first time I got a comment like that but I just want to share my thoughts about the topic.

AND by the latex gods, please, don’t do anything against this person – the comment was not mean and I’m sure the person didn’t want to shot me down.

ALSO, please, this should not deter you from sharing your thoughts and wishes in the future.

I just want to use this moment to address this specific topic since I can assure you, I think a lot about this topic and it weights heavy on me.

The comment was:

“The pics are nice but I really wish you would do another comic like 'RWBY new leadership', there's been so many sets with minimal differences that it's getting boring.”

First seeing that as the first comment sucks, after I spent many hours on this over the last days. But I appreciate you are sharing your honest thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear that the pic and its variants are becoming repetitive for you. Each version may seem minimal, but it takes hours to complete (well beside adding hypno eyes, that goes fast). In the end I’m never sure if the time investment was worth it.

Creating variations is challenging because preferences vary, and it's hard to predict which version will resonate with the audience. Some enjoy the gag version, while others prefer the mask or no mask. Should I try to add some different versions with tentacles if it fits the pic? Or should I invest a lot more time to make bigger outfit changes? Should I leave out popular variants like masked/unmasked for a tentacle version?

Sure there is also the option to make no variations. One pic and that’s it. Downside is, I actually like to do versions. And I have a hard time to decide what would be my favorite version. Plus, I also get comments like “why don’t we have gag version?” or “what not a fully masked version?”

It’s difficult to make these decisions as the artist. Because if I do more variants, I have to spend more time on one pic. This means less other pics in total and also the pics are coming out late in the month.

And I know many enjoy comic pages and doing some of the monthly poll winners as “one page comics” was a lot of fun and I hope I can do it again. But also for these pages I made different variations, since I thought just one page was not “enough”. What about the gag fans?!

I know I can’t make everyone happy, but knowing and living that are two different things.

As most of you know I’m always working on a comic project on the side. Like the Samus, Raven or RWBY comic of the past. Right now I’m working on the "Team Rocket Recruitment" comic (all the line works are up in the WIP folder), but progress is slower than I'd like. In part that’s because, let’s face it, I’m slower than other artists and doing the one-page comics and their variants over the last month ate up more time than I want to admit to myself.

Sadly, art isn’t my only "job". I got a normal day job, a family and a wife who want to spend their time with me. And if I spend time to watch a movie or play a game, there is the voice in my head that says “You are wasting time, you could spend drawing” and I really hate that voice.
Be ensured, I push myself to get as many drawings and variants finished, as I’m humanly able to.

Despite all that, I'm determined to continue delivering content that both meets expectations and brings enjoyment. AND I REALLY still enjoy drawing naughty shiny art. I want to draw so much more, try new styles. I got comic ideas that are stuck in my head and want to be shared with you!

Your support means a lot, and I'm grateful for it, I could not spend as much time drawing as I do without the support. That’s a fact. I understand the pressure and expectations, and I'm constantly seeking ways to improve without compromising the essence of my naughty drawings I call “art”. I try this and that to get faster but it’s hard for me to stick to “short cuts” or to “just” work to a level that is “good enough”. I’m doing my art because I love it and want to share this passion with you.

To all, who find my current approach too repetitive, I really respect your decision if you choose to stop your support. The last thing, I want, is to make you feel unhappy or disappointed. Right now, I don’t know how I could change my approach. As said, I try but I can’t make any promises.
