Hey folks!

As some of you might have heard, Pixiv:Fanbox is making some modifications to their ToS.

The internet is abuzz with panic, worried that they will use it to ban content such as loli, incest, beastialty, etc. It's even trending on JP Twitter!

Although this could be the case, I am not entirely convinced it is. Not only are the new ToS generic as heck. (Every legitimate website on the internet has rules against CP/CSEM etc) But there has been an apparent rise of accounts actually peddling such content with live actors. This content would fall under these ToS changes. Sometimes AI is tossed into the mix, although I'm not sure exactly how.

It is my hope that these ToS are to combat the above scenarios. Generally when loli is banned they word it quite specifically; such as "depictions of children" or "depictions of child like characters" etc. Not just the generic "No CP" like every website has.

Still I could be completely wrong... Why they would need to change the ToS to ban such things is beyond me. Especially since live actors are already against the rules. Perhaps its lipservice to the credit card companies (we know they are involved). Or a sign of good faith in order to continue services.. Or perhaps I am just high on copium.. All I know is that internet sensationalism is at an all time high these days, and people jump to the worst conclusions right off the bat..

I am going to take the "wait and see" approach. I have a perfectly functional SubscribeStar for anyone who wants to switch over to that. They've already told Visa/MC/Paypal to bugger off. In the meantime I will continue as usual and see how things turn out, while I plan around what to do if it really is as bad as everyone fears.

TL:DR = New ToS are scary and worrisome but lets not panic just yet.

Can you find a website without credit card payment?

Don't worry, I'll have your back

In the words of studio trigger: "THE LOLI MUST STAY"

I was worried at first, but now that I've had time to calm down, I'm a little more optimistic. Even tho credit card companies might not like it, I doubt Pixiv would outright ban things such as Loli, since that would be literal suicide for them. I agree with your stance, and I don't think it's copium on your part, but a logical conclusion given the circumstances

Aye, it's very easy to get caught up in the panic storm with changes like these. I'm still worried, don't get me wrong, but chopping off such a huge amount of content would be extremely detrimental to Fanbox. They aren't like Patreon, which still had lots of other genres and media types to fall back on. Fanbox only hosts art; and the vast majority of that is hentai because that's what sells. We'll know more once the "revised" ToS get dropped in a week or two. Then have a few weeks time to react at that point.

I dont keep up to date with most social media aspects, trends, hypes or opinions tbh ( old school thinker, if it isn't harming anyone, then whats the harm ) or a more streamlined version of " what ever floats your boat " and " no skin off my back ". all that aside what ever comes of this and where ever you end up if the wcs happens i'll follow along with the majority of your fans.

hey @Mantis-X I cant use subscribe star for some reason and I dont know why is there some other alternative?

HubDweller

Are you gonna get your personal site fixed soon, or build a replacement?

Sadly other creators are already leaving. I doubt I’m gonna follow to many disparate different places. It’s just an ache. Either way, as long as you’re here and as long as I can I’ll support.

Maybe Fantia could be an alternative, because it can be supported by purchasing points. But the best option is still FANBOX. (From translation software)

Mantis-X

https://fantia.jp/fanclubs/6419 I have used Fantia for years. They were an option for NA users before Fanbox =3

Mantis-X

Banks can be finicky with SubscribeStar for various reasons. For now just stay here, let's see what happens =3 Or you can try https://fantia.jp/fanclubs/6419 but they will *not* allow me to give out uncensored content. I've already had multiple warnings hehe.

Mantis-X

<3 thank you very much! Social Media is so crazy these days, I don't blame people at all for staying off of it. I only really bother because it helps with internet presence and fans discover me.

Mantis-X

Gonna see where this all goes first, as the kind of website I make might depend on what happens here.

Mantis-X

I think people are jumping the gun, however opening up alternative platforms is not a bad idea either. So its good that people are taking measures. Even if shit hits the fan, Pixiv at leas gave us a month to get our cards in order. Unlike Patreon which just nuked everyone overnight and left us to pick up the pieces xD

I had just rediscovered your work after a couple months of looking when your "free" site was nuked, and decided to exchange my cold, hard cash for your great loli art. So if it gets nuked here, it'll be Fantia or Subscribes tar for me. Keep on keepin' on!!
