Hand Studies June (Patreon)

Spent some time this week working on some hand studies over my lunches! Ended it with a final speed paint of one of the studies to play around with some Void Suit lore :3!  Seems Bod has a few tricks up those skin tight sleeves XD.

In terms of the biggest things I picked up from it here are some tidbits!

-Forms matter a ton! Getting the general massed for the palms and base of the thumb really helps direct the forms.

-Can be too easy to get proportions off on it. I'm pretty sure for most of these I drew the fingers too short. In general from what I remember the length of the palm equals the full length of the fingers. Likewise the first digit of the fingers tends to be roughly equal to the 2nd and 3rd digit combined.

-Knuckle placement is so important on how the palm versus the back of the hand read. on the top the fingers look longer since the base of the first digit is covered by the chunkiness of the palm. Can really see this on a clenched fist with how it bends.
