3D Printing & Painting Contest: FDM Appreciation Month! First prize is a 3D printer from Elegoo! (Patreon)

They're tough to master. The supports are a pain. But without FDM printers we wouldn't be here today friends :). This month for my 3D printing and painting contest lets show off our best FDM prints. And as a special treat, to celebrate their anniversary I've teamed up with Elegoo who will reward the winner with an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro!  

(yes I see the irony in a resin printer being the prize for an FDM contest lol)

Rules are as follows:

  • Post your submission below with an image url. Imgur preferred. Please don't use instagram as I can't download images from there. 
  • Follow Elegoo on these platforms: https://linktr.ee/elegoomarketing  
  • Only use my files though remixes are welcome
  • Must be FDM printed
  • One submission per patron from any tier
  • One creature per submission, though swarms of one creature are fine.
  • Voluntary: on your social media posts about this if you could show which FDM printer you used and used these tags: #mz4250paintingcontest #elegoo. This is so the event can get popular and Elegoo can interact with the participants. 

You have until 23:59 25 July 2022  to post here then I'll make a poll where you will decide the winner! Prizes are: 

  • 1st - An Elegoo Mars 2 Pro plus, bottle of resin and a custom 3D modeled mini
  • 2nd & 3rd - a custom 3D modeled mini and a bottle of resin
  • 4th & beyond - a sticker by Jen! 

Due to shipping restrictions, currently printers can only be sent to the US, UK, Australia, Canada and most EU countries, If they cannot send the machine to the winner's location, Elegoo will communicate with other sponsorship methods, such as paying for the product through PayPal. So excited to paint this miniature. This was my first time painting a mini and I had so much fun. Thank you so much for making these models accessible, it made getting into the hobby so much more accessible for me. Something about the wings and scales of Kukulkan stood out to me. Attempted to get a Metallic Sentinel run off for this one but wasn't able to get it to print without breaking, so decided to finally paint the Undead Dragon I had run off some time ago. Went for a recently deceased look, came out better than expected. Printed on my Ender 3 Pro, using Hatchbox filament at a .12 layer height and paint with Master Series Paints. This one was a challenge! I went with one of my favorite enemies I've ever fought - the King of Feathers! I decided to remix the T-Rex into a new King of Feathers since the one under the ToA folder isn't very FDM friendly and I liked the added sculpting on the updated T-Rex. https://imgur.com/a/lOpDLFV

That's tough- I entered a 2 year old effort for similar reasons. Some great efforts on here so I'm not too optimistic!
