After a bit of deliberation, your better sense looses out and you decide to purchase the more expensive kit regardless of the fact that you are running dangerously low on coinage. After all you reason, the provisions ARE much nicer. Why suffer the unpleasantness of hardtack for weeks. Clearly that's a hardship reserved for rookie adventurers.

You finish packing up your travel provisions and stop to admire your newly acquired pinup. It's a signed photo of the curviest half-elf you've ever seen. She looks back at you ever so suggestively. "What a woman!" You say to yourself before carefully stowing the photo among your belongings.

The weather is fine as you start off on your journey and your spirits soar as you glide speedily along the well worn path that leads to the east. At noon you stop and have lunch beside a pleasant little brook in the warm spring sun before setting out again. You hope to make the next town by evening and spend one last night at a proper inn before entering the HAUNTED WOOD. Maybe you'll even have enough left over for a couple of pints.

Soon however a wicked wind comes up from the west stripping the warmth from the spring air and leaving you chilled. You pull your cloak about you and it's not long before a cold drizzle begins to fall. The temperature begins to drop significantly as daylight fades. You fear it may start to rain soon in earnest and you try to pick up the pace to reach the next town before it really starts to come down.

Several miles from your destination you spot a small out cropping of rock under which you might take shelter. Upon closer inspection you decide that you could potentially hole up here for the night if you chose. It's not the most ideal spot, but it seems to be sufficient to keep you dry even if it does not afford enough room to make a fire. It will be a long cold night but at least you'll stay dry. Then you could warm up with a warm cup of mead on your way through the next town in the morning.

Your other option is to risk getting caught in the storm and try to make the two to three hour trek to the next inn. That would definitely make for a nicer evening if you could manage it without getting soaked. What to do?
