Just caught up on the first three - really enjoying your guys' takes! As a huge Halo fan who *liked* Season 1 as the start of an adaptation, I've been *loving* Season 2 for its continued adaptation and pulls from the background lore while it also works toward connecting with the classic Halo feeling and atmosphere people know. And I think while most people agree Season 1 had some roughness, I really appreciate what they did behind the scenes after it aired. The show was very popular, but some of the characters and plot points weren't connecting with the core Halo fanbase as much as they'd hoped. So to fix this, they basically dove in to see how they could improve on Season 1 as much as possible, continuing their take on the story but also almost treating Season 2 as a "soft reboot" you could jump straight into if you preferred. It takes place a full six months after Season 1; they pull Cortana out of Chief's head off-screen right away, the war has reached humanity's doorstep and now "everything's on fire" just like the Halo we know, and we're off running straight into it! I think these first three episodes have done some amazing work at fixing a lot of those lingering issues some of the more hardcore Halo people had with the show's first season, and you can actually see in the fanbase that people are *excited* to see what comes next (which is mindblowing to me 😅👋 as someone who's been active in the Halo fanbase for a long time, a lot of these guys get mad and STAY mad - so it's really an incredible thing the team and new showrunners have pulled off here!)
