Fluttershy slowly woke up in my Equestria dreamscape and looked across at Rainbow Dash. The light cerulean blue mare was still asleep and was snuggled up against her.

The yellow chiffon mare blushed a little and then slowly wrapped her front legs around her friend and gently pulled her firmly against her. Dash made a few incoherent sounds but did not stir from her sleep. After a couple of seconds RD pressed her head against Fluttershy’s chest dropped back into deep slumber.

Fluttershy softly buried her muzzle into her friend’s prismatic colored mane and breathed in deeply the musk of her friend’s mane. It was a mixture of cider, pony, ginger, and a particular brand of sports balm that Dash liked. Dash’s hot breath washed over Fluttershy’s neck and chest causing the mare to shiver slightly with pleasure.

In spite of being a rather avid reader of romance novels Fluttershy had never experienced anything like last night. Link The yellow mare had initially been very concerned that Dash would be disappointed with her, considering she had no previous knowledge or experience.

However Dash had been very understanding and gentle with her. She had been surprisingly nonjudgmental and in a fashion not typical of  Dash had carefully walked her through the whole experience.  Several times Dash had commented that she’d only recently learned this from personal experience with Sky Brush and especially Petina and Carousel. Her friend had even apologized that she wasn’t as knowledgeable as those two mares, but to Fluttershy had been more than impressed.

Now the Element of Loyalty was snuggled like a little filly against Fluttershy’s chest.  The Element Kindness knew that she should get up and start starting feeding the numerous animals that she cared for, but this morning she wanted to do nothing more than pull the covers up and both her head and Dash’s and just let this magic moment last a bit longer. Her animal friends could wait a little while longer. After all Fluttershy had all day to take care of them, and still get her other chores done around the cottage.

Although, the yellow mare decided that laundry, especially the linens, would definitely get first priority today on the chores list. But that could wait a while longer as she snuggled against Dash.

Angel Bunny scrambled up one side of a comforter and on to the bed. He was rather put out at Fluttershy this morning. His breakfast was late along with every other animal’s in the cottage, and of course they had all come to him for an answer! Well now he was about to get some and he wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer.

Hopping across the bed he stopped at the front of it.  His owner had pulled the blankets so far up that only part of her pink mane and a tiny bit of her yellow muzzle poked out of a cave-like opening. Stopping in front of this entrance the rabbit reached out with a front paw and tapped the yellow muzzle. After a few seconds a sleepy voice replied.

“Oh good morning to you Angel! Today is wonderful day isn’t it! I’ll get to your breakfast and everyone else’s in a little while, but right now I think I’m going to stay here in bed a bit longer with Rainbow Dash. All right?”

After a minute or so it became obvious to Angel that the mistress of the cottage was not going to stir without further motivation. The white rabbit reached forward and tapped the muzzle again several times. Once again Fluttershy’s voice emerged from the blanket cave.

“Yes Angel.” Said the yellow chiffon mare with a bit of a testy voice. “I’ll get everybody's breakfast later.” Then silence returned to under the blankets.

Angel glared at his owner. She’d never done this before and the only time she ever strayed from her routine and duties was when she was sick, and Angel could tell she was not sick.

Fine! He thought. If she wanted to play that way he’d show her!

Dropping to all four he turned around kicked the protruding yellow muzzle with his hind legs then turned to assess the results. That should get a reaction!

From under the blankets two eyes full of cold, baleful fire burst into existence. Angel froze in place; then a voice growled softly at him.

“Later.” Was all she said, but it filled Angel Bunny with a sense of dread. In that brief instant he saw his life flash before his eyes. He felt the grains of sand in his hourglass run out. Somewhere somepony danced a happy jig on his gravesite. For the first time in his life Angel Bunny felt the full weight of the stare.  Now he understood what the other animals that had experienced it were talking about.

Now he felt no desire to bother Fluttershy. Slowly he backed away and then hopped off the bed. He still had some leftovers in his bowl from dinner last night that he could eat, and if any other animal wanted to tempt fate that was their business. Angel had decided to steer clear of Fluttershy for the rest of the day.

To be continued.
