“Um, uh, Rainbow Dash are you okay? Rainbow Dash?”

     Fluttershy was standing in front her friend in my Equestria dreamscape. A steady rain was now falling but her friend was sitting motionless, with a thousand yard stare. Which had the yellow-chiffon mare baffled?

     “Um, you don’t look well. Let’s go inside, okay? I think maybe you haven’t completely recovered from all liquor you drank last night.” As Fluttershy spoke gently to her Rainbow Dash’s mind was racing at a breakneck pace.

     How could this happen? Why have I just noticed this? Does anypony else notice? How could I have known her so long and not notice how beautiful she is? She’s gorgeous!”  Link RD was aware that Fluttershy was talking to her but she couldn’t get her own mouth to say anything.

     “Urrrggpphht!” Was all that came out of Dash’s mouth.  Sweet Celestia I hope I’m not drooling? Well with all this rain she might not notice?” Dash prayed.

     “Um, oh my!” Exclaimed Fluttershy. “Let’s definitely get you indoors.” Fluttershy positioned herself alongside RD and gently placed one her wings along Dash’s back.

     Fwapp! Fluttershy was physically pushed away as Rainbow Dash’s wings suddenly snapped open and erect. Fluttershy looked at her with alarm.

     “Oh dear! Well there is no doubt now! You’re not well. Let’s get you inside and dried off!” All the while Dash was thinking.

     Sun and Moon! I don’t believe it just did that! I popped a wingboner right in front her! How could I do such a thing!

     Fluttershy gently steered her friend toward the cottage; at the threshold Dash could at least fold her wings again so there were no other difficulties getting through the front door. Once under cover Fluttershy guided her friend to the living room then she addressed her.

     “I’m going to go and get us some towels okay. Just stand here and I’ll be right back. Alright?” Dash just nodded her head and watched as her friend quickly trotted out of the room, as she left Dash’s mind starting racing again.

     Okay Dash pull yourself together! Be cool! Yes you’ve suddenly realized your longtime friend is hot but you can keep your cool! You don’t even freak out like this when you watch Petina or Carousel dance!

     A series of unwanted images of Fluttershy wearing a dancers outfit and swaying to some sultry tune danced through Dash’s mind.

     Fwapp! Her wings snapped open again just as Fluttershy came back into the room with pile of towels on her back. Dash’s friend shook her head and then proceeded to start drying her off with a towel. All the while speaking to her in a soft voice.

     “Okay let’s get you dried off first. Then I’ll help brush your mane and tail. You don’t look like you need any preening so I’ll get you tidied up a bit and I’ll go put the kettle on for nice herbal tea. Does that sound nice?”

     “Yes.” Was all Dash was able to say. Fluttershy nodded her head and began working a towel over her friend’s body. Dash nostrils were filled with the scent of Fluttershy’s wet body. Dash closed her eyes and trembled slightly as she tried to keep this sudden avalanche of emotions in check.

     Finally the ordeal was over, although Fluttershy looked even more concerned. “I’m starting to get worried about you Rainbow Dash! You’re shivering like you have a fever! Let’s get you into bed. Then I’ll take your temperature alright?”

     No! Not all right! I should leave; I should get out of here before say something stupid!  Dash opened her eyes and found that Fluttershy was staring at her greater concern.

     “Um Rainbow Dash, is there something else bothering you? Uh, is it something you’d like to talk about?”

     “No! Yes! Um, uh, argh!” The prismatic mane mare threw her front hoofs up in the air in frustration and then collapsed to the floor and then promptly covered her head with them. After several seconds Dash finally spoke.

     “Look! Fffflluttershy, um have you um, had something in your life  for what seems like forever and ever, and you’ve sort of taken it for granted. But then one day you look at it, ah really close and it’s like you're seeing it for the first time, and you suddenly realize it’s awesome. Has that ever happened to you?”

     Dash’s chiffon yellow friend seemed to ponder her words for several seconds. “Yes, yes I think I know what you’re talking about. It’s like some path you travel everyday for years, but then one day you stop and you suddenly realize how beautiful it really is. Is that what you mean?”

     Close enough to work with. Thought Dash. “Yes something just like that! But, but instead of some old forest path it was another pony! Another pony you’ve known since they were a little filly! But what if you were afraid that suddenly telling them they were awesome, amazing, special, or beautiful would alarm that pony enough that they would no longer want to be around you. What would you do?”

     Fluttershy sat down alongside Dash for what seemed like an eternity to RD she pondered her words finally she looked at her friend.

     “Rainbow Dash is there some pony that you suddenly have realized this about?”

     Dash wanted to bang her own head on the floor. How can my friend be so dense at moments like this!

     “Yes!” Exclaimed the pegasus. “Yes, yes I have but I’m really afraid she won’t feel the same way about me, or will be offended because she knows I am in a couple of relationships already!”

     “Oh my!” Said yellow pegasus. “That would be awkward wouldn’t it Rainbow Dash, but who is this….”

     Suddenly Fluttershy connected the dots. A slow blush started to spread across her face.

     “Oh! Oh dear!”
