The clock on the mantle piece completed its last chime as it finished heralding the arrival of midnight. Then it resumed monotonous ticking. Beyond that the only sound in the living room was the sound of small falling debris from the chimney into the now mostly cold fireplace.

This detail was noted by the only occupants of the room. The CMC intently watched the tiny pieces of falling soot. Scootaloo quickly glanced at the bear trap and various obstacles scattered around the fireplace. Then she looked up and checked that the weighted cargo netting hanging above floor. Satisfied with what she saw the pegasi addressed her 2 comrades.

"Okay girls. Follow the plan. If we do this we'll be able to prove that Canter Claus is real."

Meanwhile up on the roof. Discord adjusted his fake beard as he prepared to descend the chimney.  Fluttershy had talked him into playing Canter Claus this Hearth's Warming Eve, and so instead being in the nice warm cottage with his wife he was standing on a snow covered roof.

Well lets get this over. He thought. The sooner I finished my rounds. The sooner I can back home to Fluttershy, and I have a special gift for her in my bag.
