For Stone Mane his meeting with Applebloom and Princess Luna in the Dream Realm had left the colt with several things on his mind in my Equestria dreamscape.

He'd asked Applebloom to give him her bow on spur of the moment to help her save face in front of the princess, and she'd obliged him. Link However for reasons the colt could not explain the act of her taking it off had sent his heart racing, and he was determined that he would make this gift a permanent object in his dream fabric. With the coming of the new day he woke still wondering what it all meant. Even more confusing he caught the filly watching him very intently several times during the day.

For her part her Applebloom had felt slightly giddy for the rest of the evening, and she awoke the next morning with a strange, unexplainable feeling euphoria. Whenever she looked at the colt that day she couldn't help but smile, and by the end of the day she'd decided to do something.

Finally things started winding down at Sweet Apple Acres. Dinner was consumed, the dishes were washed, and barn was secured. For awhile the family gathered on the porch and enjoyed the cool evening breezes and watched the fireflies flash and flittered around farmstead. Around 8:30pm the household started making preparations for going to bed.

It had become tradition that Stone Mane was the last to use the bathroom before going to bed. Having finished brushing his teeth the colt exited the bathroom and headed off to his bedroom. Much to his surprise he found Applebloom sitting in the hallway waiting for him. The rest of the Apple family had already retired to their rooms. For a couple of seconds the 2 foals just stared at each other. Finally the colt spoke.

    "Um, hi."

The filly smiled. "Uh, Stone. I wanna give ya something." She then unclipped the red bow from her mane and passed it over to the colt.

"Ya asked fer my bow in our dreams last night, so I figgered ya might want ta have it in the real world as well."

The colt stared down at the bright red bow for several seconds then looked back up at the filly. "But don't you need it for–"

Applebloom chuckled. "I've got whole heap of them silly!" She smiled and a little bit of blush crept across her cheeks. "But I want ya ta keep this one fer yerself."

The colt didn't know why but he suddenly felt his heart pounding. He looked down at bow again  and then stared back up with a slight slack jaw expression. To his surprise the filly was now face-to-face with him. Without saying a word she kissed the colt. Not just a peck on the lips, but a firm solid locking of the lips.

For several seconds they remained with their lips locked. Then the filly separated and smiled at the stunned colt. She stood up and slowly walked into her room. She stopped in the doorway and looked back at the still frozen colt.

"Good night." She said softly. Then she gently pushed her bedroom door closed with a back hoof.

Stone Mane remained in the hallway looking back at the filly's door for about another minute. Then he slowly made his way into his own room. Carefully he attached the bow to the headboard of his bed. Then he extinguished the oil lamp on his nightstand and robotically climbed into bed. Lying on his back he clutched his doll of the filly to his chest and stared up at bow hanging above him. Slowly a smile grew across his face and he closed his eyes.

To be continued.
