Last Minute Detail (Patreon)

As Doctor Steady Pulse attempted to provide some aid to Last Thing's plight  Link. Applebloom and Rarity is finishing up last minute details for the upcoming Summer Ponyville Barn Dance in my Equestria dreamscape.

     Applebloom had been under the impression that when she'd recently had gone to Carousel Boutique for the final fitting of her new dress that she'd would've been taking the garment home with her. Link Much to her surprise Rarity had informed Applebloom that there was one final, tiny, last minute change that Element of Generosity had to perform.

     So once again the filly found herself standing alone this time in the showroom while Rarity retrieved the finished dress. Eventually the mare came trotting out with the garment a smile on her face.

     "Now darling. I want to thank you for permitting the time to make this minor but very, very important revision to your dress!"

     "Ya know Rarity, I've been ah wunderin what the hay was so important that had ta do more work on it? Did ya git measurement wrong?"

     The white mare peered over the red rims of her cats eye glasses at the filly. "Oh no no dear! This was more of an oversight on my part dear. I had failed to take advantage of certain advancements in garment technology that were at my disposal when I was creating this masterpiece for you! But I when you and your coltfriend were here recently I was reminded of it. And so..."

     Rarity rotated the dress with her levitation so Applebloom could see the change. "If you remember dear in the original design I had used classic hooks to close the back of dress! But as you know those can be monotonous and tedious to deal with! So! Instead–"

     With an additional tug of her levitation there was the sound zipper. The mare smiled at the filly. "So instead I removed the hooks and replaced it with a zipper! This will make the task of putting it on and taking it off after the dress much less of a chore."

     Applebloom gave the mare a suspicious stare. "And that's the only reason why ya did it? Really? Not becuz my coltfriend Stone Mane is weird about them? Ya realize that he won't be able ta take his eyes off the whole time I'm ah wearing it?" Link 

     A very knowing smile slowly grew across Rarity's face. "But darling that's one of the reasons for wearing a dress like this. So those who are close and special to us can't take their eyes off of us! Now! Give me a second dear and I'll get this all wrapped for you. Be right back!"

     Then the mare turned and trotted back into the backroom of the boutique. Applebloom watched her leave and then muttered to herself.

     "Grownups are weird."
