Baron's Art Tips. When composing an illustration its often best to imagine not as being a single static image, but instead as a single frame from a clip of film. These are 4 images for an upcoming commission for Fabiounicorn Link, Link who's a regular in Picarto stream chat.

    After being given a description of what the client wanted I went ahead and watched some videos of actual ballet and studied images ballet dancers. In my head I was able to construct a possible scene in my head. Then it was a matter of viewing over and over and settled on these 4 poses for the client to select.

Surprised no poses show the dancer “on point” — in this case balanced on their extended hoof/hooves

I actually decided against it because it almost cliche pose to have a ballerina in, and much ballet is not done on point.

To a degree, hooves + on point seems redundant.

Yes that's what noted when I did the series of ballerina sketches. Since ponies already are walking on their toes.
