Chibi Kitsune! She generally has more subdued movements, but I still wanted her to have some fun poses. I'm very happy with the way I took advantage of her tail ^^

Just like last time, I did a bunch of stuff this month! Everything I wanted to do, and more.
First of all, I improved the rank up animation! The old one was pretty lame, which is a big flaw for a BE game. I worked especially hard on it, and the result was worth it! It's definitely going to be one of these things I'll want to put in the trailer and on the Steam page. While I was at it, I even worked on the HUD a bit!

Then, I put some work into the alchemy mode. Since I changed the way blocks work last month, I had to adapt the alchemy system a bit to make sure it works. There were a few bugs but nothing serious, so it didn't take very long to take care of.

Training mode was the same, but I went the extra mile for this one: in the current demo, training mode has a pretty sad excuse of a tutorial. It used to have an actual tutorial, but that was kinda ass too. So I finally made an actual tutorial that explains how to do things clearly and waits for you to do it so you can access the next step. I was able to keep it short and simple too, so I'm very satisfied with it! I probably won't ever need to update it again.

Then, I added bookmarks! If you've used the almanach in the demo, you might remember the tabs that let you access different categories, on top of the left page. I've added three special tabs similar to these above the right page, and clicking any of these while you're looking at a page will bookmark that page! Bookmarked pages will appear as a small icon next to the almanach in the overworld, which will let you access these page instantly without having to look for them in the almanach. It was a bit of a pain to make sure all the information appears in the right place, but other than that, this was surprisingly easy!

Finally, the secret menu I mentionned last time has been finalized as well. It's a very important one, but what it is exactly will stay a secret until the demo.

I also did a bunch of other, smaller updates and fixes, so I'm going to list the most interesting ones:

- Improved some of the stat icons and the way they're shown on the spellcard and on the level up display

- Fixed the BGM controller. Not something I had planned to do, but the object that controls the BGMs kinda broke out of nowhere, so I scrapped it and made a cleaner, better one. Again, it was easier than I thought it would be and only took a few hours!

- Improved a bunch of particles, as well as the way they work.

- I lacked in space for the description of items in the inventory, especially for trinkets that have both a stat description and a lore description, so I made it so clicking on the description box toggles between the two.

- Updated the character select menu.

- Fixed a bug that made some rooms unselectable in the map menu.

- Fixed a bug that caused character to become invisible in the overworld.

- Added a feature that causes certain characters to drop a special item when tickled.

- A bunch of other fixes of various kinds

And that about sums it up! The next step is the dialogue system update, which I'm already working on and is about... 40% done maybe?
What I call the dialogue system is made of two main parts, the actual dialogue boxes and their text of course, but also the various chibi animations that trigger during the dialogue (or while exploring). The text part has already been fully updated and I've added a bunch of features, like control over text speed, dialogue box size, unskippable text, auto skipping text, and more of this kind of stuff. I can also use scripts linked to dialogue more freely, but that's more of a me thing.
As for the animations, a lot of the system has been reworked already, but I still need to change a few things and, of course test it.
I'll also need to make sure the hint function and party events still work after that.

It shouldn't take too long to get that done. And then, I'll finally be able to tackle the cutscenes! That being said I'm now out of chibis, so I have to take some time to draw new ones first. On top of that, I also need to look for a second composer since kulor won't be able to do everything by himself. I already have someone in mind, but we'll see what happens.

So yeah, there is still work to be done, but I'm making some serious progress! ^^

And that's pretty much it for now.

Thank you! ^^ A bunch has changed for sure. The idea was to keep most of the new content a secret so that everything would come as a surprise. I never expected it to take this long though, and I'm really sorry for that... All I can say is that while there are still a few months of work to go, I'm finally seeing the end of it.
