Finally, the new demo is here!

I've worked so much on this, I don't even really know what to say now...

I hope you'll enjoy it! Let me know what you think of it :)

The truth is I'm really tired, so I'll take a few days for myself. Of course if any bug is reported, I'll do my best to fix it as quickly as possible. Despite all the testing I did, a few  bugs slipping by me is a possibility. If you have any question, I'll answer them as well.

Edit: 

Thank you to John Smalls for reporting a game crashing bug in the storage menu! I fixed it and reuploaded the game.

If you have an earlier version and want to update to a new one, you can still use your save by copy/pasting it. The save files are found in AppData/Local. Make sure to create a backup first, you never know.

I genuinely cannot figure out how to get out of the basement in the ocean... I tried the puzzle upstairs and got a chest, can't figure out the box with the shell displayed in it, and don't know how to utilize the light above the stairs

In a similar situation with that puzzle, but I wanted to say I'm enjoying the demo. The look and feel has come a long way since the previous one. I can say that the game could deal with some ways to hedge the RNG of random encounters in your favor, maybe items or a setting that can increase/decrease encounter rate or a way to up the chances of shapes or monster girls respectively. Dunno if that's in the works, but it's probably my biggest gripe at the moment as the high encounter rate will lead to more item drops than can be carried.

Sorry for the delay, I've been sleeping all day... The box with the shell part of an answer for another puzzle, and the light above the stairs are purely decorative. To get out, go up the stairs, and solve the puzzle with the 5 shards by turning them all yellow. There are 2 other solutions to this puzzle, but yellow is the way out. This is the one I was the most afraid people wouldn't be able to figure out, maybe I should make it a bit easier...

There will be usable items that allow you to instantly destroy random encounters, others to send you back to the last save room visited, and you will be able to destroy the encounter if you're at a high enough level, as well. That being said, you can always go back the way you came from when a foe appears, meaning you could approximate when a fight will appears, go backward, and if it appears you can simply resume your way. Also, don't hesistate to go back to the village to store your excess of items. Maybe I should add a monster radar, kind of like in Etrian odyssey... I'll think about it.

For some reason, I got a notification of a comment but it's not showing here... I'll answer it anyway : Sablee and the 2 floors of Sablee Ocean are the only avalable areas in this demo, but there is a bunch of secrets hidden everywhere. There is a total of 4 power orbs to be found.

Ah, I have a few more questions, are you supposed to be able to do anything with the green shells in the ocean like pick them up? and are the orbs hidden behind puzzles? I feel like I have gone most everywhere there is only one red door for me now, the one on the second ocean floor with the blank box at the top on the cave wall... there is one room with 4 shells and four red crystals above them, it seems to only just spawn new monster girls to fight. Thank you for responding, it has been fun trying it out, need to find 3 more orbs now though lol.

What red crystals? I'm not sure which ones you're referring to. Yeah, most orbs are hidden behind puzzles, either in Sable or in the ocean. Oh, if this is where you are and you already found 1 orb, this means you got one of the hidden ones. The room with the 4 red buttons contains a hint for opening that one door, you need to click them in the correct order to reveal it. The order is hinted at through the shell near each button :)

It took me quite a while to figure out the basement. I felt a little silly after taking so long on the 4 button room. It seemed pretty obvious after I finished it, but afterwards I managed to get all 4 orbs. I like direction this demo went and I'm excited to see what comes next

Good job on getting all 4 orbs! You're the first one as far as I know. I'm glad you liked it, this is very encouraging! :D

Looking great, enjoying it very much. There are plans to add a save function, too? Also, I get an error in storage screen when i try to transfer hairpin out (who knows, maybe just my system?)

You can only save in save rooms. From the main plaza with the big crystal, go up, up, left. Does the game crash when you take the hairpin out? Could you send me the error report if so? I'll test it right now on my side. Edit: Just tested it and I got the error, not sure how I missed that... I'll fix it right now and update the download, thanks for bringing it up!

Thanks, I'll look into this! Do you remember what you were doing when it happened, or what was supposed to happen at the moment it crashed?

Got this when I saved after clearing most of level 1 and 2; sad panda, it was my first save (played on different computer so started over) ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ ERROR in action number 1 of Other Event: User Defined 0 for object obj_GameController: Data structure with index does not exist. at gml_Object_obj_GameController_Other_10 ############################################################################################

It would be ideal if the escape key didn't exit the game automatically. Also a pause option while mid battle would be handy

The plan is to have pause menu from which you can exit the game, but I didn't have time to implement it for the demo so I left it out for now... You can actually pause the game during the fights by pressing the enter key, I left it in the game just in case but never explained it since it might not be completely stable. Of course, I plan to improve this as well.

Do you mean the game crashes when you try to, or you can't find how? You need to click on the huge magic circle. From the place with the big red crystal, you have to go up, up, left to find the save room.
