Hi! :)


I did a LOT of stuff these last 3 weeks, and I'm pretty much done coding at this point, there is very little left to do!

First, I added something I dreaded for a long time now, the settings tab! It's something that's pretty much expected in games nowadays, but it was still a bit of a pain to do. When accessing this tab, you will be able to change the game's resolution. You can also choose to play in windowed mode and turn v-sync on/off. While playing in windowed, the cursor is locked in the window, and in the game when playing in fullscreen with a multiscreen setup. I had to update a bunch of cursor related stuff for this to work correctly, but it was worth it. I also added an option to change the mouse's sensitivity while I was at it.

Since the rest is a lot of relatively smaller changes and fixes, I'll just give you a list of what I did:


- Updated some menu transitions

- Updated a lot of font related stuff

- Fixed some fight related bugs

- Updated some menus

- Updated the way spell's rank is shown

- Updated exploration related stuff

- Added a quick unequip function for equipment and combo meter

- When holding an equipment in the inventory, the corresponding equipment spot will shine

- Updated power orb sprite

- Updated inventory UI sprite

- Updated money/shard/power orb displays

- Clicking on an open door now allows you to move in wichever direction it leads to

- Fixed an inventory space related bug

- Trying to pick up an item or unequipping something will now display a message if the inventory is full

- Background support in exploration mode

- Total HP is now shown during fights

- Result screen (post fight) received a bunch of fixes

- New transition when giving up a fight in result screen

- A bunch of other minor fixes and updates not worth mentioning here


And there you have it. I still need to fix a few things in the result screen, optimize the way characters' sprites are drawn,check the HE fights for bugs, and test everything again to make sure everything is good. I'm expecting to be done with this by the next update, which feels really weird honestly since I've been working on the code for so long now. Still, this is very exciting, and I can't wait to draw stuff again! :D

Also, I just realized I never mentionned the power orbs before, I believe. You might remember how you need to meet certain conditions to increase characters' rank. Most of these change depending on the character on rank, but two constants for ranking up are reaching a certain level, and having collected a minimum amount of power orbs, which can be found by exploring, clearing quests, etc...

Finally, I asked in the last update wether or not you guys wanted to keep the 100$ goal, but it didn't seem like anyone was really interested in it and since it would have simply been less time for me to work on the BE Witches, I removed it. I also realized that the 800$ goal, which would allow me to dedicate all my time to the game's development, would be fine if only I got to keep all 800$. Sadly, that's not taking into acount taxes, and living would become difficult in the long run, which is why I increased it to 900$ to be safe. I hope you understand.
