Being one of the most popular girls in Ablesmith Academy wasn't something Sydney wanted. 

She wanted to stay out of the limelight as much as possible, but being the daughter of Ablesmith City's Mayor, she couldn't stay out of the center of attention for long. Her surge of popularity was brought about by her beauty and natural talent for being a charismatic team leader of the Academy's Cheering Squad. 

But then again, fame wasn't something Sydney yearned for, and neither was being courted and befriended by everyone who wanted to climb the social ladder.

So when Jessica thanked Sydney for dismissing the rumors about her, they instantly became the best of friends. For once, Sydney had someone who looked past her identity and focused more on her individuality, away from the image set by her family.

All in all, Jessica and their small circle of friends were all the company Sydney needed. At least, until Sydney was dared to make out with a certain bartender... 

And he eventually was added to the list.
