I'm about to start working on the last scene for this episode, but I figured now is as good a time as any to show you the major overhaul the NSFW is about to get!

When I started development on NSFW, I didn't actually intend to use Koikatsu as the art style. I looked around at some of the most commonly used art engines, and pretty much ruled out daz3d right off the bat. I knew I wanted to have updates that were at least monthly, and daz (while it looks great) is very involved compared to some of the other popular programs.

Next I looked at Honey Select. After messing around with it, I decided that this was the program I wanted to use. There was one big problem though: I couldn't find a wrestling or boxing ring asset to use and I'm not skilled enough to make one from scratch that looks even halfway decent.

So.. I looked into Koikatsu and found one I could use. The ring is actually a Smash Bros. map that I combined with another map, then added in all the bleacher seating to cover all the things I needed to obscure. If you ever thought that the walls around the ring were closer than they should be, that's because they're actually covering up parts of the Smash arena that were sticking out of the floor after resizing and positioning the ring.

Another benefit of using Koikatsu is that it uses almost the exact interface that Honey Select does, and in the end I thought that the more cartoony style might work to alleviate the fact that everyone is beating the absolute shit out of each other. I'm happy with how it turned out, but in the back of my mind I always kinda wished that I had been able to find a wrestling ring in Honey Select.

Well..

I found one. That's not the final look it will have and it won't be on a beach, but the point is that I now have a useable wrestling ring in Honey Select! Well, Honey Select 2 to be precise. So now, allow me to introduce you to.. The Management:

This was my first pass, so they might still change a bit, but here they are! There are plenty of challenges ahead. I need to remake the arena (though it will be quite a bit different), find replacements for all of the different locations and, of course, make all the wrestlers again.

So the downside: it's going to take some time. I had initially toyed with the idea of making all the assets while I continued making episodes in Koikatsu until they were ready, but decided in the end that it would be better to just focus on getting everything done and switched over asap.

So what does this mean? Well, after the current episode I'm working on is done, there will be a gap without any episodes. Hopefully I'll be able to get everything done within a month and have the first Honey Select based episode out by the end of January. Sooner if possible. But that doesn't mean that you won't see anything in that gap.

I'll be posting updates pretty much daily, showing you the new looks for the wrestlers as I finish them. I may even put out a "test" scene or two just so you have a little something-something to play in the interim.

I realize some of you may prefer the Koikatsu art style, but I honestly only used it because of my limited options at the time. Not that I hate Koikatsu art, I just prefer Honey Select quite a bit more. This will also let me make the mc's dick a more manageable size so it will fit nice and snug into all the wonderful places it should!

I hope you guys will enjoy the changes, and this episode will hopefully leave you satisfied and looking forward to what's next!
