I literally started watching this movie yesterday and I'm finishing it up tonight ! What a coincidence.

Had no clue if you were going to check this one out, so hyped! This is why you guys are my favorite reactors, man. Always surprising us.

oh man what an awesome surprise! this movie is amazing and, as someone who will always stand behind the notion that animation IS cinema, i’m glad you came out of this loving it. i love miles a lot (when this movie came out i was around the same age as miles here so i feel a lot of fondness for him as a character) and i’m so excited to see the sequel!

Animation is just a medium to tell a story like any other, particularly in Korea and Japan there are many animated series and comic books made with specifically teen/adult audiences in mind, just like there are many dark stories in Marvel/DC comics. Animated doesn't = for kids! You guys have big hearts tho and I had no doubt you'd give it a fair shot, cannot WAIT for you to experience the sequel when it comes to streaming!! Not sure when you two would be polling for your next "big" series after TWD, but would LOVE to see you give Attack on Titan a go if you don't mind watching it in its native Japanese, now THAT is certainly not a kids show :DD regardless tho these upcoming MCU shows are gonna be nuts and I love following you on all these journeys, thanks for being some of the best reactors in the space and a real positive unit!

Non-spoiler...I just wanted to say, I am so glad you did this movie ...I had no intention to watch it for no particula reason, like you sometimes say, it just wasn't on my radar of things to watch. I am now kicking myself, for being short sighted. The only thing I want to say about the new one, is I subscribe to several film critic channels on YouTube, and they are all giving glowing remarks about it. Also, there seems to be a third one in the offing. So, I think we will be in for nother visisual and audio masterpiece. Fingers crossed!

Yessss! I suggested this on your last Spider-Man reaction! I'm not talking credit cause I'm sure a lot of people have suggested it but I'm so happy! Gonna watch it with you right now.

I am not a huge spider-man fan, but I do watch the movies because I am a superhero fan. I loved this movie! I saw it soon after it came out and like you two was blown away. By far my favorite Spider-Man movie. Hands down. Enjoyed watching it again with you two and I am excited to see the next one.

Wonderful reaction!!! This is such a fun and well done movie. I am not the biggest Spider-Man fan, but I do love superheroes and animation. This movie excels at both. Not to mention the amazing soundtrack!!! It is nice to still have some stand alone superhero features. Although we did get a hint in Spider-Man:Homecoming that the MCU may have its own Miles Morales. The criminal that Peter used the enhanced interrogation mode on in the parking lot, his name is Aaron Davis. When he is telling Peter that he doesn’t want the weapons Vulture is making to be in his neighborhood, he says it is because he has a Nephew that lives around there. So he agrees to give up the location of the sale that Vulture is going to be making on the ferry.

I'm so glad Rob and Trin had a good reaction to animated Marvel. It makes me so much more excited to see if they watch Marvel What Ifs

It may have violence and language...but if you want to see Cage shine, watch Kickass! :P

Animation is a medium to tell a story. Animation dosen't equal kids cartoon. Just like spy kids and the shinning aren't the same genre, shark tale and the prince of Egypt aren't the same genre. Every movie is different and you shouldn't judge it based on it being animated or not. Animation is just a means to expressing yourself. And finally I just want to say that you should definitely watch more animated stuff. I have a few recommendations. For movies I recommend these 3 for you guys. Soul for its amazing music and its great morals that is sure to make you cry, the prince of Egypt for its breathtaking visuals and its tale about how flawed humans can be and megamind for its great humor and its story about being trapped in a role in society. For shows i recommend these 4. adventure time for its crazy detailed and fun world and its great character development, avatar the last Airbender for its great detail and bluntness about how war can impact the different people in the world, next up we have infinity train a Sci fi series where each season has a new set main characters solve personal problems by being put on a train that they cant escape from untill they solve their problem. and finally this short animated Halloween series called over the garden wall with its gut-wrenching undertones of death and its yet hopeful look at the world. Also its simply fantastic American folk jazz music and its breathtaking backgrounds. This is all series I have seen. I am not just saying stuff I heard from other people. This is genuine and these are some of my favorite things in general not just movies and TV shows.

Fun details but Miles universe is actually from the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) from the comics, created as a re-imagined and modernized versions of the Marvel superhero's from the main Prime Universe (Earth-616) with both large and small changes starting with Ultimate Spider-Man in the year 2000. Some changes you may noticed like the Ultimate Green Goblin who's closer to that of a monster than a man in a Goblin suit like we see in Earth-616 and most versions of the character in media. Peter B Parker the Spider-Man who was sucked into Miles universe is from Earth-616 the main comic Universe where everything is alot closer to our universe like brand names for example. In Miles universe there's some weird spelling differences you may notice and the NYPD is called the PDNY (Police Department of New York?) in Miles universe which is pretty interesting it's like our own universe but a little different the adverts, movies, and even car brands reflect this. But yeah Miles always existed in a separate universe from the Spider-Man of Earth-616 instead he existed in a world with the Ultimate Spider-Man who wasn't that different to the 616 counterpart he just became Spider-Man in the 2000s instead of the 1960s. This is the same with a lot of the Ultimate versions of characters. Pretty much all Spider-Men are based somewhat on the Earth-616 Spider-Man even the movies so they all share many elements from origin story to suit and appearance there's just many different Peter Parkers across infinite universes. That big guy is Kingpin a classic Spider-Man and Daredevil character who appears in the Daredevil show played by the amazing Vincent D'onofrio. He's always depicted as being pretty big in the comic's made of all muscle but this film did make him a little bigger which I kind of like lol looked pretty funny. If you look at the Peter B Parker intro you can see the metal tentacles so he's used to the classic comic version of the character instead of the Woman version in Miles universe. Should point out that the Ultimate Universe does have a Male Doc Ock but maybe he was already defeated by this universe Spider-Man as Peter is already in his 20s, 26 when he died so at least 11 years have past since he first became Spider-Man.

Anonymous

Pretty sure they said they knew Kingpin because they watched the cartoons and Rob played the game. Also important to note Peter B isn’t actually from the comic universe. 616 in the movies is different from 616 in the comics. Pretty sure the producers did interviews back when the film first came out where they said it was like the comic universes but different. I think the designation is actually Earth-616B, ironically.

You guys have to do the new one now as well I absolutely loved the animation style and comic book feel and of course getting to see Hugh Hefner

Anonymous

You guys should totally do more animated stuff! Theres a certain creative freedom when it comes to the way characters move in action scenes in animation that live action doesn’t, and when its done well, its phenomenal

Simon Williams

Good weekend for spider fans 🥳

Richard Ortega

The animation is god tier for the movie and the soundtrack for it is also nice, if y’all continue with animated shows/movies I would love to see y’all react to Attack on Titan not all animated films are for kids

Anonymous

Does this mean that Arcane could be on the table? I assumed you were against animation but I highly recommend Arcane if you are ok with animation.

Simon Williams

I think the consensus is that at some point you guys should do an animation month sometime down the road.

Octavia

So much great energy in this reaction! Thanks for watching. Kind of surprised that you guys were unfamiliar with Spider Gwen. Super popular comic character for a bunch of years now. Maybe because I collect Marvel comic trading cards, I'm very aware of her. Her cards always go for more than most. (Also, Gwenpool.)

Anonymous

Probably not gonna see this, but if you’re gonna start reacting to more animation you should definitely check out Arcane on Netflix. It’s really good, has some family aspects as well. It’s based off of a video game but everything you really need to know is provided in the show.

Vonnie Stewart

Animated series: Invincible!!! Same comic creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman so you know its GOOD

Vonnie Stewart

Penny parker was super sad about the robot because she said her dad who was her uncle ben and died was the one who built it. It was sentimental

Just signed up the other day so only now watching this, but if you're loving this animation... just wait until you see Across the Spider-Verse. It genuinely might be the most visually stunning movie I've ever seen. It's a legitimate work of art.
