Fischl has been working hard to bring us such fun views so let's not let them go to waste ( ¬ ‿ ¬ ) And now seems like a great time to sneak in some feet to start off November so let's have a little fun before the neko catches us (。> ڡ ◕。)

These last weeks have been crazy busy with Fischl and some major improvements to phase 3 too! It was already the biggest phase and came out even bigger by the end (。0 . 0。) But it's finally something we can be proud to share in the release! We've now started to work on finishing phase 4 too so we are onto the home stretch ٩(。•`◡´•。)۶

And thank you all once again for your patience and supportive words ( っ^ ◡^ς)❤️ We committed ourselves to finishing Fischl, but also to doing it right! We have a bit of work ahead still but we're pushing forward every single day to have it ready for you. We want to bring you the very best we can and hope you will love the results!❤️❤️

Serious question, what's eating most of the time in the production process? Editing? Rendering? Animating? Maybe hire more people to speed it up as it seems this project is becoming too big with your current team, the progress is pretty much crawling at this point. I've seen other nsfw creators putting out monthly 5+ min 3D animations, solo. With full audio and everything. Whats holding up this project?

I think a big part is they know they're overextended. When this drops, a HUGE amount of support is going to drop too, and they must realize that. So drag it out to keep the money flowing. Many artists do this at some point. They really are the best at this tentacle stuff, though. There is no comparison, no one comes close to what they do.

Yeah you are probably right that we won't get it this year... Based on reading the previous posts, finalizing phase 3 took 2 months. And phase 4 and 5 still need to be finalized. However, phase 4 and 5 are relatively short so who knows.

It's something we can never know for sure, just like previous animations unfortunately. We split our final edits todo list into 13 parts (for each story/action segment) and 9 of them are finally empty. We still need a few new scenes to smooth out pacing and some transitions, lots of rendering, some animation improvements, and sound work. It feels like things we can do in a few weeks, but we always seem to find just a bit more we need to do. The WIPs take a little time too but we want to ensure you're always getting proper and fun updates and it pushes us to polish some parts faster (˵^ ◡ ^˵)❤️ Nearly every single day of the year we're working on Fischl and streaming progress. Compared to the more than 1 year behind us, there's really not much left. So we'll keep pushing until we can bring you the biggest work we've ever done and hope you enjoy!❤️ ❤️ ❤️

There's a few things to break down here. I probably won't be brief, but I'll cover them as best I can (˵^ ◡ ^˵) Everything we do takes time. I'll break down how one scene comes together: - Choosing the camera angle. There are some rules of proper cinematography to follow, and sometimes it's not an easy choice. Focal length, distance, depth of field, what part of the body to show, and even adjusting the body proportions to best fit that camera angle. - Core animation. Dynamic motions can be very time consuming, and Fischl has more of that than all our previous works combined. Looped motions are usually a bit quicker, but then I spend additional time on facial expressions and subtle body movements after Neko prepares each loop. We don't want generic loops so I do my best to spice them up and make them more interesting. - Lighting. With the cinematic fantasy style lighting we use it's not something we set once and forget. Every camera angle in the animation needs the perfect positioning for multiple HDRIs and many light sources tailored to that exact view. Sometimes lights must be animated too as the body motions can interfere. - Rendering test versions. This lets us see if it really came together how we wanted, and lets us spot issues we missed or things we can improve. - Final edits. Clipping, rough movements, mismatched pacing or lights compared to scenes around it, finalizing camera motion, and perfecting facial expressions (sometimes more than once). - Simulations. Some scenes have fluid physics and most of this project has particles that must be positioned and generated. Fluids in particular take me at least a few days for just one scene with 12-16 hours of nonstop simulating, checking, fixing, and re-simulating. - Final renders. Each scene averages about an hour at 1080, and some are as long as 3 hours at 4K (such as for WIP posts). Some scenes even need 1 or 2 more final renders just to add finishing touches after review. - Sound work. Ambient noise, tentacle sounds, voice coaching, timing/splicing/editing voice tracks, sound effects, etc. It can take me several hours to finalize audio for a WIP scene, especially in my efforts to keep pushing to improve sound. This is mostly for WIPs however. The final audio for the entire animation I expect will take maybe a week or so for all 200+ scenes with everything I've prepared during this year. As you can see it's not really 1 part we just can't figure out eating all of our time. Each scene just takes time, and sometimes we have to go back and redo parts, add scenes, and generally fix things to meet our standards. And as mentioned, there are more than 200 scenes (camera angles) that each get some love. We could rush and release something unpolished of course, but that's just not how we want to do these things. We want every animation to stand on its own as a fun experience people can happily enjoy (っ^ ◡ ^c)❤️ And one additional point, time spent with our community. Many DM us, share ideas or stories, send suggestions, compliments, ask questions about animation, we prepare and post these WIPs, answer comments, chat in our live streams. These things take a little time as well. Perhaps more for us than most, since we have a shockingly large community far beyond anything we ever imagined possible. But we appreciate all of you and do our best to still interact and give you just a bit of our attention. It's so many people we usually split it so Neko handles Patreon and Pixiv, I handle Twitter, and we both chat with discord members. You guys mean a lot to us!❤️❤️❤️ Now onto the other points: - Hiring more people. This sounds awesome in theory and like a magical fix for all of our woes. However it sadly isn't as simple as it looks from the outside. Getting a professionally trained animator isn't the most likely, as they sacrifice job security, benefits, and certain legal protections just to join in our hobby. This kind of work can't exactly be advertised on a professional portfolio, or worse could get some artists in hot water if employers found out. And we ourselves are no strangers to controversy or death threats. That's the sad reality of adult content. Even payment processors don't like adult content and many will ban accounts transferring or storing funds for it. In a perfect world we find another hobbyist who already knows what they're doing with this sort of work. However that will likely mean some sacrifice in pursuing what they want to make. With that level of skill they likely already have fans and certain types of content they enjoy creating. Content we may not be allowed to make or be interested in ourselves. There can be creative conflict, both between artists and fans of the respective creators. And the alternative is someone starting out new and building up skills. However we can't dedicate all of our time to training someone from zero for 6 months to a year so they can begin being helpful at a basic level at this stage. We need self motivated persons that throw themselves into it head first, out of their own passion, just as we did. And moreover who want to make the same kinds of content we do. But it's quite rare in our experience. Many feel that fire for a few days or a few weeks, then it's gone. The ones who do pursue it may have their own creative vision and want to create their ideas, not share in ours, especially for things we can't make without losing our platforms. No matter which of these scenarios though, we need people that have the time and the passion to put that time into these works. An hour or two a day would make only a small dent. We're just the right amount of crazy to pour 12-16 hours days in all year long (。> ‿ ◕。) - "Progress is crawling." You can prove yourself completely wrong there by just watching our near daily live streams once in a while, but we can at least agree it's taking too long. And as we've said before we plan to return to shorter 3-5 min animations so we can release more often like before. We knew and planned that almost a year ago now so it's not news to us and we agree. - "Other creators are faster." It's really apples and oranges and predicated on not understanding what goes into animations. If they simply made exactly what we make, just faster, there would be no one left here. I am genuinely curious though, can you name some of these artists? In all seriousness they may have some interesting things we can learn. We've only been at this for a few years now and are constantly learning, trying new things, and improving still. But I can break down some of these apples and oranges a bit too if you like. What can make two animations look different, feel different, and take wildly different amounts of time? - Number of camera angles. Many artists will use only one or maybe a few cameras for several minutes of animation. However we enjoy the cinematography and want to show fun things from many angles and put emphasis on different parts constantly. Our scenes average roughly 10 seconds per angle, outside of short transitions. And as I covered above, each and every angle requires the various things I detailed about our work. Less angles = less work, and for us, less interesting to work on. - Continuity and transitions. Related to camera angles, we also go out of the way to animate the little things that many artists would just skip with a black screen or a hard cut. We show how a character goes from pose A to pose B, we try to motivate all of their reactions and emotions, and let the viewer fully understand how things played out. When creating porn for the sake of just porn, you don't need such things. Just an angle and a loop. But we enjoy the non-porn just as much as the porn aspects. So we don't sacrifice them just to churn out porn faster for porn's sake. The cinematography and story moments are very important to us and not something we're willing to throw away. - Dynamic motions. Similar to above, when creating porn for porn's sake it's much more efficient to skip things like story, walking around or performing unique motions that take a lot of time to animate while not being sexually gratifying on their own. But we find a lot of joy in creating and sharing those things, setting the mood, or adding little humorous moments. It challenges and pushes our skills more than just making loop after loop too. And as I touched on above, even for looped scenes I put a lot of time into making the loops more dynamic and interesting. It would be faster to just make loop after loop. - Animation skill. We've been at this for only a few years so there are definitely some with significantly more experience and skill doing this for far longer. We're learning and practicing all the time, and even planning some revisions to our workflow. But we can't even update Blender, let alone change how we organize and work on scenes, this far into a project. But we're excited to try them out soon in our next projects! - Animation quality. We do our best to make the most interesting and well polished motions we're capable of. A lot of adult animations focus on simpler loops, avoid body impacts entirely, don't fix all the minor clipping, don't animate things like hair/hands/fingers, and rely on physics without much optimizing to handle some of the heavy lifting. But we pride ourselves on doing our best to make every scene the best we can. We have a long way to go still and occasionally miss some things, but we're really excited for the possibilities in the future as we grow our skills!❤️ And for the usual accusations of stalling or threatening with money, I can address those too. - Are we stalling? Of course not. We have live streams nearly every day in our discord, and everyone is welcomed to come take a peek and see how we do what we do and how progress is coming along. Some things like rendering or audio work just aren't streamable content but one or both of us still find something to stream daily for the most part. Usually animation or lighting work. You can see with your own eyes the work we do (。> ‿ ◕。) - "Support is going to drop". We expected it to drop a long time ago. After Raiden x Yae really. It felt like impossible and unsustainable amounts of people coming out to show their support, but somehow our community, all of you wonderful people, continued to grow and support us as we pour our passion into these animations. We pour so much love and joy into each and every one, and even in planning some extremely exciting ideas for the near future, and can only thank you all for being so kind and generous to us. You are all really amazing ( っT ◡Tς) ❤️ The numbers will go up and down but that's not really important. Our work continues, with 110% of our passion behind it! ᕦ(。🔥 n 🔥。)ᕥ We can only be grateful for those who made this journey possible. We appreciate those who once supported us but moved on, and we appreciate all of you that continue to support us now or in the future! Thank you for taking the time to reply. I understand, I work in a field where some projects just take a long time, and we hired some people in the middle of a big one and it was a pain to train new hires up to speed. But for my suggestion in hiring, I was thinking along the lines of hiring people to just render the work, and send back to you, so you guys can focus on the other work you mentioned, or maybe buy high end PCs dedicated to rendering, just some suggestions. I really like your work, otherwise I wouldn't give my opinions or feedback

It's no problem, we appreciate the feedback (っ^ ◡ ^c)❤️ We did upgrade last year for Fischl finally, as some scenes are so heavy now that not even a 3080ti can handle them at 4K. My new PC has sped up fluid sims and renders by probably 30% or more with the 4090 + better CPU, but rendering time is probably less than 15% of our work overall. The specialized knowledge for rendering makes it a bit time prohibitive to hand off to anyone too. Even as familiar as we are we still miss a setting here or there and have to re-render, or motion blur goes crazy and must be disabled or adjusted, objects randomly flashing with light errors that have to be manually rendered again frame by frame, things like that. There are some judgement calls we make that require some extensive familiarity with the project and triple checking everything. Any mistakes mean an hour or more of rendering again to rectify. We have some plans to improve our workflow a bit that I think will make scene setup easier to automate though. I also have some ideas to help our rendering workflow too, perhaps significantly if it goes well. We have much to experiment with ahead and look forward to seeing how it goes!❤️❤️

I really like to see the Progress, i once startet to Programm a little game, but i stopped Development, because i could not handle all the time the Project was eating, in my freetime, because i have a Full time Job running. So i understand that it takes long time, and to be honest, the Quality you are Delivering is Awesome, and you do not neet to hide behind other, and bigger Content creators.
