Hi again, Experts/Masters! I took a little bit of time off but I'm finally back, this time with a particularly fun Haunted map, the Haunted Chasm (35x40). This place is a nicely open-ended battleground, it has a clear centerpiece for you to build around that can also be a simple random find in the forest. The pit can be the focus of a cultist ritual, a crater, a hive/nest, or an entrance to an area far below. Because of this map I'm starting to think that giant pits are a pretty handy prop in rpgs!

Your alternate versions of this map are fun, one features a magic portal and the other has no pit at all. As I occasionally do, I whipped up the Portal variant as something a little strange and decided that this would be the proper place for it. Here, everything below ground-level is tinted a mystical blue, and in the bottom of the pit there's a conflux of swirling energy. Is it a portal? Maybe, or maybe it's something of your own creation, either way it's kinda cool!

The pitless version is called Cracked, because this one just features cracks instead of a hole. This will be fun for when your players walk over the cracks mid-combat and the ground gives away beneath them- then you swap the map to the regular version and inform your player that they're falling into darkness (or into a swirling conflux of energy). Now that's a cool combat!
