Hello there, Experts and Masters! This week's map is the Village Creek (35x35), a pleasant roadside farming town for your players to pass through without incident, right? That's right, no reason to even stop really, which makes me wonder why I even made a map for it. Certainly there isn't some conspiracy at play here, no secret cult or organization that all the villagers are a part of, so please just pass on through and don't look back!

Your alternate versions of this map are Cloudy and Stark, two rare versions I don't often work on. The Cloudy version especially is something I've only ever worked on once or twice for old maps, featuring shadowy daytime lighting that might grant an edge to sneaker players (if the DM wills it). Or perhaps you could say that these shadows aren't cast by clouds at all, but rather the branches of an enormous tree that stands incredibly high overhead, or maybe even by floating islands? Take your pick!

The Stark version is something I've been playing around with, one that features harsh and desaturated lighting and shadows, giving the impression of a storm about to hit or evil magic at play. Either way, it feels suspenseful and grim, so I don't doubt you'll find some use for it.
